''Highway 65'' () is a 2024 Israeli-French drama film written and directed by . The film stars and Idan Amedi. It received nine Ophir Award nominations, including Best Film, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Director. It was released theatrically in Israel on 30 January 2025. Plot summary Daphna (Sharon) is a dedicated police detective that puts her career ahead of her personal life and pursuit of a husband. Her dogged pursuit of justice and investigations into powerful figures in Tel Aviv leads to her transfer to low-key Afula. There, she begins to investigate the disappearance of a young widow, Orly (Fein), whose husband was killed in the 2006 Lebanon War. Idan Amedi
Idan Amedi (; born February 19, 1988) is an Israeli singer-songwriter and actor who rose to fame on the reality show '' Kochav Nolad'' in 2010. He has released 6 studio albums, with hit singles like "Pain of Warriors" and "Finished." Amedi began acting in 2017, joining the cast of the TV action series ''Fauda'', where he plays Sagi Tzur. He was called up as an IDF reservist during the Gaza war, and was seriously injured in January 2024 while reportedly demolishing Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip. Afula
Afula () is a city in the Northern District of Israel, often known as the "Capital of the Valley" due to its strategic location in the Jezreel Valley. As of , the city had a population of . Afula's ancient tell (settlement mound) suggests habitation from the Late Chalcolithic to the Ayyubid period. It has been proposed that Afula is the location of the village of Arbela mentioned in the 4th-century Onomasticon of Eusebius and the 7th-century Samaritan village of ''Kirjath Ophlatha''. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures.
