Highmead is a small village in the community of Llanwenog, Ceredigion, Wales, which is 59.2 miles (95.3 km) from Cardiff and 177.7 miles (286 km) from London. Highmead School
Highmead School is a former school building, in Highmead near Llanybydder, west Wales; it stands near the River Teifi. It was built in 1777, as a mansion. It was then converted into a local boarding school in 1956. In 1996, the school closed, and it remains unused. Llanwenog
Llanwenog is a village and community in Ceredigion, Wales. In 2011 the population of Llanwenog was 1,364, of whom 57.0% were able to speak Welsh. The community includes the villages of Alltyblacca, Gorsgoch, Cwmsychbant, Cwrtnewydd, Highmead, Aber, Drefach and Rhuddlan. St Gwenog Church is a Grade I listed building. A Medieval structure, it is the only church dedicated to St Gwenog. The tower was added after 1485 for Rhys ap Thomas (died 1525) of Dinefwr and Carew. The Llanwenog sheep is a breed of domestic sheep originating in Wales, which was developed in the 19th century. Ceredigion (), historically Cardiganshire (, ), is a Principal areas of Wales, county in the West Wales, west of Wales. Ceredigion is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. A community () is a division of land that forms the lowest tier of local government in Wales. Elin Jones
Elin Jones (born 1 September 1966), is a Welsh politician who has served as the Llywydd of the Senedd since 2016. A member of Plaid Cymru, Jones has been the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Ceredigion since 1999. Background Jones attended Llanwnnen Primary School and Lampeter Comprehensive. She graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff with a BSc in Economics and took a post-graduate MSc in Agricultural Economics at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1989. Previously she was employed as an Economic Development officer for the Development Board for Rural Wales. She is a former Shadow Environment, Planning and Countryside Minister. Jones speaks Welsh and English. She is also a former director of Radio Ceredigion and of Wes Glei Cyf, a television production company.
