Highlands School, Grange Park
Highlands School is a comprehensive school in Grange Park, Enfield, London, England. The school opened in 2000 in new purpose-built accommodation. From September 2006 the school has been full with pupils from Years 7 - 13 including a large sixth form. Houses Highlands School has four houses, Willow, Beech, Oak and Rowan. The students wear a green uniform with a green tie with a stripe of the colour of their house on it. Beech is blue, Willow is green, Rowan is red and Oak is purple. International Baccalaureate It has been an International Baccalaureate World School since December 2004, and sixth form students may take the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) instead of A-level examinations. Since the sixth form opened in September 2005, the first year of IB students took their exams in 2007, and 55% failed. Seven students were disqualified for alleged malpractice. The Highlands School was an independent primary school in Reading, Berkshire, England. For most of its history the school was located in Wardle Avenue, Tilehurst. Highlands admitted both boys and girls in the lower years, but the upper forms were girls only. The school was founded in 1929 and closed in July 2011. The London Borough of Redbridge is a London borough established in 1965. The borough shares boundaries with the Epping Forest District and the ceremonial county of Essex to the north, with the London Borough of Waltham Forest to the west, the London Borough of Havering to the east, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in the south and east, and the London Borough of Newham to the south. Highlands, North Carolina
Highlands is an incorporated town in Macon County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Located on a plateau in the southern Appalachian Mountains, within the Nantahala National Forest, it lies mostly in southeastern Macon County and slightly in southwestern Jackson County, in the Highlands and Cashiers Townships, respectively. The permanent population was 1,014 at the 2020 census. History Highlands was founded in 1875 after its two founders, Samuel Truman Kelsey and Clinton Carter Hutchinson, drew lines from Chicago to Savannah and from New Orleans to New York City. They felt that the place where these lines met would eventually become a great trading center and commercial crossroads. Highlands was named for its lofty elevation. In the 1930s the town became a golfing mecca when Bobby Jones of Atlanta and some of his well-heeled golfing buddies founded the Highlands Country Club. The Highlands School is a private, PK–12 Catholic college preparatory school in Irving, Texas, United States. It was established in 1986, in the front room of a family's house in Highland Park, Dallas. The last twenty years, The Highlands School changed location twice. The school itself has seen many upgrades from the addition of a football field and lights to a gymnasium, weight room, and new technology in the classrooms. The Highlands School is fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) since 1999, and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) since 2006. For the fourth consecutive year, the school has been named by the Acton Institute as one of the "Top 50 Catholic Schools" in the country. In 2012, it was also named a top 50 Catholic High School by the Cardinal Newman Society.
