Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language. It is one of the largest film production centres in India. In 1957, the epic mythological film ''Mayabazar'' became the first Telugu film to gross over 1 crore. The 1992 film ''Gharana Mogudu'', directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and starring Chiranjeevi was the first Telugu film to collect a share of 10 crore at the box office. In 2015, '' Baahubali: The Beginning'' became the first Telugu film to gross 500 crore. Its 2017 sequel '' Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'' became the first Indian and Telugu film to gross 1000 crore.
