High Commission Of Nigeria, Accra
The Nigerian High Commission in Accra is the primary diplomatic mission of Nigeria in Ghana. It is on 20/21 Onyasia Crescent Roman Ridge in Accra. The previous High Commissioner was former Senator for Lagos Central Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, appointed by President Umaru Yar'Adua in May 2008. The High Commissioner in 2012 is Hon. Ademola Oluseyi Onafowokan. Official and economic ties In August 2007 the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana launched Nigeria's 47th Independence anniversary celebrations in Accra. Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro
Musiliu Babatunde Obanikoro (popularly known as Koro) is a Nigerian politician. He served as Senator for Lagos Central from 2003 to 2007, and was later appointed High Commissioner to Ghana. He briefly served as minister of State for Defence in 2014. Background Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro was born in Lagos. Umaru Yar'Adua
Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (; 16 August 19515 May 2010) was a Nigerian politician who served as the president of Nigeria from 2007 until his death in May 2010. He won the Nigerian presidential election held on 21 April 2007, and was sworn in on 29 May 2007. He had previously served as the governor of Katsina State from 1999 to 2007; and was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In 2009, Yar'Adua left for Saudi Arabia to receive treatment for pericarditis. He returned to Nigeria on 24 February 2010, but died on 5 May. Olusegun Obasanjo
Chief Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Ogunboye Aremu Obasanjo (; ; born 5 March 1937) is a Nigerian former army general, politician and statesman who served as Nigeria's head of state from 1976 to 1979 and later as its president from 1999 to 2007. Ideologically a Nigerian nationalist, he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1998 to 2015, and since 2018. Born in the village of Ibogun-Olaogun to a farming family of the Owu branch of the Yoruba, Obasanjo was educated largely in Abeokuta, Ogun State. John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor (born 8 December 1938) is a Ghanaian politician who served as the tenth president of Ghana from 2001 to 2009.
