''High Blue Wall'' ( cs, Vysoká modrá zeď) is a 1974 Czechoslovak action drama film directed by Vladimír Čech. It is inspired by Air battle over Merklín. It is first Czech film that used 70 mm technology. The film is sometimes called 1970s Czech Top Gun. it wasn't very successful with audiences and gained negative reception. Martin Růžek, born Erhard Martin (23 September 1918 – 18 December 1995) was a Czech actor. He starred in the film ''Poslední propadne peklu'' under director Ludvík Ráža in 1982. Air Battle Over Merklín
The Air battle over Merklín was an air-to-air engagement between Czechoslovak and USAFE air units over the Czech village of Merklín, in the Bohemian Forest, on 10 March 1953. During the action Czech pilot Jaroslav Šrámek, flying a MiG-15 (from 5th Fighter Regiment, 2nd Squadron, Plzeň-Líně air base), shot down one of a pair of American F-84E Thunderjets (from 53rd Fighter Bomber Squadron, 36th Fighter-Bomber Wing). The American pilot, Lt. Warren G.Brown ejected from the aircraft, which crash-landed in German territory, approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the border, and survived. It was reported in the ''London Times'' that the attack on the American aircraft was from the border near the town of Falkenstein, Bavaria. The aircraft crashed near Regensburg, Bavaria and the burnt out wreckage of the F-84 was recovered by American soldiers. 70 Mm Film
70 mm film (or 65 mm film) is a wide high-resolution film gauge for motion picture photography, with a negative area nearly 3.5 times as large as the standard 35 mm motion picture film format. As used in cameras, the film is wide. For projection, the original 65 mm film is printed on film. The additional 5 mm contains the four magnetic strips, holding six tracks of stereophonic sound. Although later 70 mm prints use digital sound encoding (specifically the DTS format), the vast majority of existing and surviving 70 mm prints pre-date this technology. Each frame is five perforations tall, with an aspect ratio of 2.2:1. However, the use of anamorphic Ultra Panavision 70 lenses squeezes the image into an ultra-wide 2.76:1 aspect ratio. Ladislav Trojan (1 August 1932 – 18 December 2022) was a Czech actor. Life and career Born in Prague, Trojan began his career as a child actor in amateur theatre. He studied drama at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and while still a student he made his film debut in Fráňa Šrámek's '' Silvery Wind'' (1954). Between 1959 and 1960 he starred in the first Czechoslovak television series, ''Rodina Bláhova''. Between 1958 and 1965 he was part of the Zdeněk Nejedlý Realistic Theatre stage company, then he joined the company, with whom he stayed until 1996. He took part in several Summer Shakespeare Festivals and frequently toured nationally and abroad. His filmography includes over one hundred credits between cinema and television.
