Hidropark (Kyiv Metro)
Hidropark (, ) is a station on the Kyiv Metro's Sviatoshynsko–Brovarska line. The station was closed from 24 February 2022 to 1 April 2023 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Station The station was opened on 5 November 1965 as part of the construction of the Brovarsky radius. The station is situated on the Venetsiiskyi Island right next to Hydropark. Unpopulated and not used for housing, it was transformed by the station into a summer resort for Kyivans when it fell in between the future line to Darnytsia and the new Brovary avenue that ran parallel to it. Such planning is explained in the seasonal operation timetable which make the station rather distinctive. During the summer months, it receives quite a moderate passenger traffic, particularly on weekends and public holidays. The Kyiv Metro (, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv, Ukraine, owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivskyi Metropoliten''.'' Sviatoshynsko–Brovarska Line
The Sviatoshynsko–Brovarska line () is the first line of the Kyiv Metro, dating back to 1960. It includes some of the system's more historically significant stations, such as Arsenalna, which at 105.5 meters is the deepest in the world and the next station Dnipro, which although the tunnel follows a descent, appears above ground level. All of the stations on the eastern bank of the Dnieper river are either ground or above ground level, this attributed to a similar experiment like Moscow's Filyovskaya line. Here the warmer Ukrainian climate prevented the stations there from being severely deteriorated, which was why extensions in 1968 and 1979 were kept from going underground. The five original stations are extremely beautiful in architecture and decoration as they managed to survive Nikita Khrushchev's struggle with decorative "extras". Hydropark, or Hidropark (from ) is a landscape-recreational park on the Dnieper River in Kyiv, Ukraine. History It was created as an entertainment complex with mainly water activities: beaches, boating, water attractions. Darnytskyi District is an urban district of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. It is the southeastern district of Kyiv, located on the left bank of the Dnipro river. Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine with around 2,950,000 residents, has been frequently targeted by the Russian Armed Forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Overview An attempt to capture the city was made in February–April 2022, but the Russian forces were repelled. Since then attacks have been carried remotely through airstrikes. Since October 2022 Kyiv has been occasionally attacked by Iranian-made drones on Russian service. From the start of the invasion on 24 February 2022 until 28 May 2023, the air raid siren has been on in Kyiv for a total 887 hours (or around 36 days).
