Hide-and-seek
Hide-and-seek (sometimes known as hide-and-go-seek) is a children's game in which at least two players (usually at least three) conceal themselves in a set environment, to be found by one or more seekers. The game is played by one chosen player (designated as being "it") counting to a predetermined number with eyes closed while the other players hide. After reaching this number, the player who is "it" calls "Ready or not, here I come!" or "Coming, ready or not!" and then attempts to locate all concealed players. The game can end in one of several ways. The most common way of ending is the player chosen as "it" locates all players; the player found first is the loser and is chosen to be "it" in the next game. The player found last is the winner. Another common variation has the seeker counting at "home base"; the hiders can either remain hidden or they can come out of hiding to race to home base; once they touch it, they are "safe" and cannot be tagged. The game is an example o ...

Hide And Seek (The Birthday Massacre Album)
''Hide and Seek'' is the fifth studio album by Canadian electronic rock band The Birthday Massacre. Background and production In a press release statement, the album was described by the band as being "darker" lyrically than previous records, a quality that was attributed to a sense of tension and a rushed urgency that was felt during the writing and recording process. During the recording process it was learned that lead vocalist Chibi had developed polyps, which in effect, altered some of the qualities of her voice during the album's final recording. In an interview with Auxiliary Magazine, the album's theme was described by the band as being loosely based on Chibi's fascination with unsolved murder mysteries, the idea of the city, and death; particularly, the thirty-year-old mystery of a missing girl. The song "Leaving Tonight" in particular is loosely inspired by the unsolved kidnapping/murder of Christine Jessop. Regarding the writing process, Chibi stated in a December 20 ...

Hide-and-Seek (short Story)

It was subsequently published as part of a short story collection in ''Expedition to Earth'' in 1953. Summary "Hide-and-Seek" uses the story within a story format. The frame story is told in the first person, set in a future that has interplanetary travel and has recently seen an interplanetary war. Hide And Seek (Rankin Novel)
''Hide and Seek'' is a 1991 crime novel by Ian Rankin. It is the second of the Inspector Rebus novels. This novel is not to be confused with James Patterson's 1996 novel ''Hide and Seek''. Plot summary Detective Inspector John Rebus finds the body of a drug addict in an Edinburgh squat, apparently dead of an overdose, but laid out cross-like on the floor, between two burned-down candles, with a five-pointed star painted on the wall above. Some of his colleagues are inclined to categorise it as the routine death of a " junkie", but Rebus is perturbed by some unusual facts of the case: a full package of heroin in the dead man's room, and some mysterious bruises on his face and body. As Rebus feels that this case looks increasingly like a murder, he begins to investigate. As part of this investigation, Rebus finds a young woman named Tracy who knew the dead man and heard his last words: "Hide! Hide!" It emerges that the dead man took and hid some sensitive photos in a specialist ...
