Hexham Wolf
The Hexham wolf (also called the Allendale wolf or the Wolf of Allendale) was a grey wolf that escaped from a zoo and killed livestock in Hexham and Allendale, Northumberland during the winter of 1904. Conflicting reports label it as being either "black and tan" or " dun", although it was largely reported as being large and male. On 10 December 1904, the '' Hexham Courant'' ran a story with the title "Wolf at Large in Allendale", reporting that over the past two to three weeks livestock loss in Hexham and Allendale had become so severe that some farmers were now housing animals in the night. Though it was suspected that the livestock killer was an escaped wolf belonging to Captain Bain of Shotley Bridge, that wolf was too young to pose a threat, and a much larger wolf was spotted by Allenheads school. Gray Wolf
The wolf (''Canis lupus''; : wolves), also known as the gray wolf or grey wolf, is a large canine native to Eurasia and North America. The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi is in Allendale, Northumberland in England. The museum opened in 2018 and houses a collection of more than 200 props, costumes and artworks from a number of "classic", mid to late-20th century science fiction franchises. Cumwhinton is a small village in Cumbria, England. It is around one mile away from both Scotby and Wetheral, and four miles from Carlisle. The village lies in Wetheral civil parish. History and facilities A hamlet was established at Cumwhinton by the middle of the 12th century, initially under the name Cumquintina, believed to be named after Saint Quentin. Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont, 2nd Viscount Allendale, (6 August 1890 – 16 December 1956) was a British peer, Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland, and army captain. Origins He was the son of Wentworth Beaumont, 1st Viscount Allendale by his wife Lady Alexandrina Louisa Maud Vane-Tempest. Education He was educated at Eton College and graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1912.
