Heverlee
Heverlee () is a sub-municipality of the city of Leuven located in the province of Flemish Brabant, Flemish Region, Belgium. It was a separate municipality until 1977. On 1 January 1977, it was merged into Leuven. According to the official website of Leuven, Haasrode is a part of Heverlee. Heverlee is the location of the Heverlee War Cemetery for Commonwealth casualties from the Second World War. Education Heverlee also harbours a significant part of the university campus of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. The Arenberg campus is the main area for research and educational facilities for exact sciences (The Science, Engineering and Technology Group). These contain the Faculty of Engineering (see Arenberg Château), the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering and the Faculty of Science. Oud-Heverlee Leuven
Oud-Heverlee Leuven (), also called OH Leuven or OHL, is a Belgian professional football club from the city of Leuven. It was created in 2002 from the merger of three clubs, '' F.C. Zwarte Duivels Oud-Heverlee'', whose registration number it inherited, '' Daring Club Leuven'', and '' Stade Leuven''. The club's home ground is Den Dreef, located in Heverlee. The club currently plays in the country's first division, the Belgian Pro League. History F.C. Den Dreef
Den Dreef, also known as King Power at Den Dreef for sponsorship reasons, is a Association football, football stadium situated on Kardinaal Mercierlaan in the Heverlee suburb of Leuven in Belgium. It is home to Jupiler Pro League football team Oud-Heverlee Leuven and hosts the home matches of the Belgium women's national football team and the Belgium national under-21 football team. St John Berchmans University College, Heverlee
St John Berchmans University College, locally known as Jezuietenhuis or Lerkeveld, is an educational institution run by the European Low Countries Province of the Society of Jesus in Heverlee, outside Leuven. It was built in 1958 by Jos Ritzen, who worked with Alphons Boosten. Heverlee War Cemetery
Heverlee War Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) burial ground for the dead of the Second World War located in Heverlee, Belgium. The Heverlee War Cemetery was established in 1946 and contains 977 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, twenty-nine First World War burials relocated to the cemetery, and twelve non-Commonwealth graves (including 11 Polish and 1 American airmen). The cemetery is one of those designed by Commission architect Philip Hepworth. Park Abbey
Park Abbey (; also Parc Abbey) is a Premonstratensian abbey in Belgium, at Heverlee just south of Leuven, in Flemish Brabant. The ''Annales Parchenses'' were written here in the 12th century. History The abbey was founded in 1129 by Godfrey I of Leuven, Duke Godfrey, surnamed "Barbatus" ("the Bearded"), who possessed an immense park near Leuven and had invited the Premonstratensians to take possession of a small church he had built there. Flemish Brabant ( ; ) is a province of Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium.
