Hetta Bartlett (1 May 1877 – May 1947) was an English stage and film actress whose career spanned both the West End of London, West End and Broadway theatre, Broadway. She is known for Sonia (1921), The Lady of the Lake (1928) and Honour in Pawn (1916). Early life She was born in Tottenham in London as Henrietta Elizabeth Bartlett, the daughter of Sarah Henrietta ''née'' Field (1851–1918) and Onesimus Smart Bartlett (1848–1921), a solicitor of Bartlett & Roberts who was Town Clerk and Clerk to the Urban Sanitary Authority in Dartmouth, Devon, Dartmouth in Devon; by 1891 he was Clerk to the Magistrates' Court in Paignton. In 1903 he would be jailed for embezzlement. Albert Embankment is part of the river bank on the south side of the River Thames in Central London. It stretches approximately one mile (1.6 km) northward from Vauxhall Bridge to Westminster Bridge, and is located in the London Borough of Lambeth. Shaftesbury Theatre (1888)
The Shaftesbury Theatre was a theatre in central London, England, between 1888 and 1941. It was built by John Lancaster for his wife, Ellen Wallis, a well-known Shakespearean actress. The theatre was designed by C. J. Phipps and built by Messrs. Patman and Fotheringham at a cost of £20,000 and opened with a production of ''As You Like It'' on 20 October 1888. The theatre had a stage of 28' 6" square. The capacity was 1,196. It was located on the south side of Shaftesbury Avenue, just east of Gerrard Place. Criterion Theatre
The Criterion Theatre is a West End theatre at Piccadilly Circus in the City of Westminster, and is a Grade II* listed building. It has a seating capacity of 588. Building the theatre In 1870, the caterers Spiers and Pond began development of the site of the White Bear, a seventeenth-century posting inn. The inn was located on sloping ground stretching between Jermyn Street and Piccadilly Circus, known as Regent Circus. A competition was held for the design of a concert hall complex, with Thomas Verity winning out of 15 entries. He was commissioned to design a large restaurant, dining rooms, ballroom, and galleried concert hall in the basement. The frontage, which was the façade of the restaurant, showed a French Renaissance influence using Portland stone. Wyndham's Theatre is a West End theatre, one of two opened by actor/manager Charles Wyndham (the other is the Criterion Theatre). Located on Charing Cross Road in the City of Westminster, it was designed c. 1898 by W. G. R. Sprague, the architect of six other London theatres between then and 1916. The Royalty Theatre was a small London theatre situated at 73 Dean Street, Soho.
