Chernivtsi Oblast (), also referred to as Chernivechchyna (), is an oblast (province) in western Ukraine, consisting of the northern parts of the historical regions of Bukovina and Bessarabia. The Prut (also spelled in English as Pruth; , ) is a river in Eastern Europe. It is a left tributary of the Danube, and is long. Part of its course forms Romania's border with Moldova and Ukraine. Marshyntsi (; ) is one of the Romanian language, Romanian-speaking villages of the Chernivtsi Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast, Chernivtsi Raion (raion, district) of Chernivtsi Oblast (oblast, province) in western Ukraine (the historical region of Bessarabia). It belongs to Novoselytsia urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The first written mention of this village dates back to 1611.
