Herzeleid
''Herzeleid'' (; "Heartbreak") is the debut studio album by German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein, first released on 25 September 1995 via Motor Music. Production and writing After signing up with Motor Music, the band was instructed to search for a producer, a position they didn't even know about since it wasn't usual in East Germany. They first suggested Bob Rock and Rick Rubin, but the label asked them to be less ambitious. The role was ultimately assigned to Jacob Hellner, known for his work with Clawfinger. Guitarist Richard Kruspe recalls the band's struggle during their time in Stockholm, Sweden, where the album was recorded at Polar Studios and Hellner's own studio, BomKrash. Because there wasn't a language that both members and producer could speak, the band couldn't properly express their disapproval of the way Hellner was making them sound. Rammstein
Rammstein (, "ramming stone") is a German band formed in Berlin in 1994. The band's lineup—consisting of lead vocalist Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz—has remained unchanged throughout their history, along with their approach to songwriting, which consists of Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental pieces the rest of the band has completed beforehand. Prior to their formation, some members were associated with the punk rock acts Feeling B and First Arsch. After winning a local contest, Rammstein was able to record Demo (music), demos and send them to different record labels, eventually signing with Motor Music. Jacob Hellner
Jacob Hellner (born 19 March 1961) is a Swedish record producer, songwriter and composer. As a producer, he has worked with acts in the metal, rock, pop, hip hop and electronic genres. Hellner is best known for his extensive collaboration with German metal band Rammstein, which saw him produce every album released by the band from ''Herzeleid'' (1995) to ''Paris'' (2017), and assisting in the production of albums from Rammstein members' side projects Emigrate and Lindemann. He is currently a member of the project Bright & Black and was previously part of the Swedish production duo BomKrash together with Carl-Michael Herlöfsson. Career Hellner began his musical career in 1986 and first worked at a San Francisco-based studio in the United States. The discography of Rammstein, a German heavy metal band, consists of eight studio albums, three live albums, and six video albums. Rammstein has also released 33 singles, 30 of which are accompanied by music videos. The band was formed in the mid-1990s by six musicians from East Berlin and Schwerin: singer Till Lindemann, guitarists Richard Kruspe and Paul Landers, keyboardist Flake Lorenz, bassist Oliver Riedel, and drummer Christoph Schneider. Rammstein debuted with the single " Du riechst so gut", released on 24 August 1995 in a scented digipack format. A month later, the band issued their first studio album, ''Herzeleid'', which peaked at number six on the German Media Control Charts and remained there for 102 weeks. Du Riechst So Gut '98
"Du riechst so gut" (, "you smell so good") is a song by German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein. It was released as the band's first single on 24 August 1995, also acting as the lead single from their debut studio album, ''Herzeleid'' (1995). The song describes the inner thoughts of a predator hunting his prey. The title is said to be inspired by Patrick Süskind's ''Perfume'', a favourite novel of Till Lindemann's, the band's lead singer. The single was re-released in 1998 under the name "Du riechst so gut '98", featuring a different edit of the song and a new music video. ''Live aus Berlin'' (, "Live from Berlin") is a recording of a concert by the German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein, performed in 1998 and released a year later. The release contains live performances of nearly every song from the band's debut album, ''Herzeleid'' (9 out of 11 songs, omitting "Der Meister" and "Das Alte Leid"), and most of the songs from their second album, ''Sehnsucht'' (8 out of 11 songs, omitting "Alter Mann", "Eifersucht", and "Küss Mich (Fellfrosch)"). It also includes a full-band rendition of the ''Sehnsucht'' b-side "Wilder Wein". Richard Kruspe
Richard Kruspe (born Sven Kruspe; 24 June 1967) is a German musician. He is best known as one of the founders and the lead guitarist of the band Rammstein, as well as the frontman of the industrial metal band Emigrate. Kruspe has released eight studio albums with Rammstein and four albums with Emigrate. Early life Sven Kruspe was born in Wittenberge, then part of East Germany. He later changed his first name to Richard, believing that anyone should be able to change their name if they want to. Kruspe has a younger sister and an older brother. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother remarried. The family moved from the village of Weisen to Schwerin when Kruspe was young. He did not get along with his stepfather, who would be physically abusive, and Kruspe often ran away from home in his early teens. During his youth, Kruspe was a wrestler for seven years. (; "New German Hardness", sometimes abbreviated as NDH), also known as dance-metal, is a crossover style drawing from Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal, groove metal, electro-industrial and techno. It developed in Germany and Austria during the early-to-mid 1990s and early 2000s. Alluding to the style of Neue Deutsche Welle, the term was coined by the music press after the 1995 release of Rammstein's first studio album '' Herzeleid''. Characteristics describes a crossover style that is influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal and groove metal combining it with elements from electro-industrial and techno. "Seemann" ("Seaman"/"Sailor") is a song by German band Rammstein, released as the second single from their album ''Herzeleid''. It was composed by bass player Oliver Riedel, with lyrics by Till Lindemann. ''Asche zu Asche'' (; "Ashes to Ashes") is a song by German metal band Rammstein. It was released in January 2001, as the fourth single from their album ''Herzeleid''. The single is also included as a bonus disc in the re-released "Australian Tour Edition" of ''Sehnsucht''. This release contains the 1995 album version of the song, as well as five live tracks taken from ''Live aus Berlin''. It was released exclusively in Australia, as a promotion for the Big Day Out festival (2001), for which Rammstein were a headlining act. Till Lindemann (; born 4 January 1963) is a German singer and songwriter. He is the lead vocalist and lyricist of Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein and solo project Lindemann (band), Lindemann. Rammstein has sold over 25 million records worldwide, with five of their albums receiving Platinum album, platinum status, and Lindemann has been listed among the "50 Greatest Metal Frontmen of All Time" by Roadrunner Records.
