Hervé Lord
Hervé Lord (born March 3, 1958) is a Canadians, Canadian ice sledge hockey player. He was born in Saint-Pamphile, Quebec, Canada. In the Paralympic Games, Lord has won numerous medals as a member of the Canadian team including bronze (1994 Winter Paralympics, 1994), silver (1998 Winter Paralympics, 1998) and gold (2006 Winter Paralympics, 2006). He also competed with teams which finished in fourth place in 2002 Winter Paralympics, 2002 and 2010 Winter Paralympics, 2010. Lord took the athletes' oath on behalf of all competitors at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver. He announced his retirement from the Canadian ice sledge hockey team on September 7, 2010 (along with captain Jean Labonte, Todd Nicholson and goaltender Paul Rosen). Lord also participated at the Soldier On Paralympic Sport Summit at Carleton University in May 2008 in an effort to assist Canadian military members rebound from debilitating injuries resulting in permanent disability. Saint-Pamphile, Quebec
Saint-Pamphile () is a town in the Canadian province of Quebec situated in the L'Islet Regional County Municipality in the Chaudière-Appalaches administrative district. While the official municipal territory ends at the Canada–United States border located at the eastern end of town, there is a tiny hamlet located immediately east of the border, known as St-Pamphile, Maine. The hamlet is historically part of the larger entity located in Quebec and is considered an integral part of the town by locals. 2010 Winter Paralympics
The 2010 Winter Paralympics (), or the tenth Paralympic Winter Games, were held in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, from March 12 to 21, 2010. The opening ceremony took place in BC Place Stadium in Vancouver and the Closing Ceremony in Whistler Medals Plaza.
