Hershel Greene
Hershel Greene is a fictional character in '' The Walking Dead'' whose role is depicted in the comic book, television series as portrayed by Scott Wilson and the game series. He is the widowed owner of a farm in Georgia and has previous experience in the veterinary fields. A devout Christian, with uncompromising morals and a stubborn attitude, Hershel remains fiercely protective of his large family, despite his many losses. In both the comics and television series, he is initially introduced saving the life of Carl Grimes, the son of Rick Grimes, after Carl is shot by one of Hershel's neighbors, Otis, and becomes the moral center of the group. In the comic book series, Hershel is a farmer who initially exhibits a cold and cantankerous demeanor, before opening up to Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors, proving to be a gentle man at heart. Maggie Greene
Maggie Rhee (''née'' Greene) is a fictional character from the comic book series ''The Walking Dead (comic book), The Walking Dead'', portrayed by Lauren Cohan in the The Walking Dead (TV series), television adaptation of the same name. In the comic book series, Maggie becomes the surrogate mother to Sophia Peletier, Sophia following the suicide of the girl's mother, Carol Peletier, Carol. Maggie is initially insecure and depressed, attempting suicide at one point after her entire family is killed. Over time, she hardens and becomes independent. Maggie later becomes involved with the war against the Saviors, during which she encourages the people to follow Rick Grimes instead of Gregory (The Walking Dead), Gregory and Negan. The people of The Hilltop listen to her and she becomes their ''de facto'' leader. After the war, Maggie has a son named after her father, Hershel.
