The Visigoths (; ) were a Germanic people united under the rule of a king and living within the Roman Empire during late antiquity. The Visigoths first appeared in the Balkans, as a Roman-allied barbarian military group united under the command of Alaric I. Their exact origins are believed to have been diverse but they probably included many descendants of the Thervingi who had moved into the Roman Empire beginning in 376 and had played a major role in defeating the Romans at the Battle of Adrianople in 378. Hernán Pablo Gumy (; born 5 March 1972) is an Argentine former tennis player, who turned professional in 1991. He represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where he was defeated in the first round by Venezuela's Nicolás Pereira. Gumy made two finals in his career; both of them ATP 250s on clay in 1996. Hernán Gaviria Carvajal (27 November 1969 – 24 October 2002) was a Colombian footballer, who played as a central midfielder. Hernan José Gamboa Alexis (June 18, 1946 – January 10, 2016) was a Venezuelan musician, composer and singer. He was a member of the Venezuelan fold music group Serenata Guayanesa, and later released separate albums.
