Hernar
Hernar is an island in Øygarden municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is one of the northernmost islands in the Øygarden archipelago. The island is rocky and barren. Most of the settlement is in one cluster on the southwestern part of the island along the small harbor area. The eastern third of the island is uninhabited. It sits in a cluster of mostly uninhabited islands, about north of the island of Seløyna, the northernmost large, populated island in Øygarden which is connected to the mainland by a series of bridges. Hernar has about 15 permanent inhabitants and many holiday cabins. It is connected to the mainland via a passenger ferry service to the small island of Hellesøyna, just off the coast of Seløyna. Øygarden is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is an island municipality located in the traditional district of Midhordland, stretching along the west coast of the county. The village of Straume is the administrative centre of the municipality. Other villages in the municipality include Alveim, Blomvåg, Vikavågen, Ågotnes, Fjell, Foldnes, Knappskog, Knarrevik, Kolltveit, Landro, Sekkingstad, Skogsvåg, Klokkarvik, Tælavåg, Kausland, and Hammarsland. Vestland
Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. The administrative centre of the county is the city of Bergen, where the executive and political leadership is based, but the County Governor is based in Hermansverk. Seløyna
Seløyna or Seløy is an island in Øygarden municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island is the northernmost of the large populated islands in the Øygarden archipelago. It is connected to the island of Alvøyna by a short bridge over the Vikesundet strait. The small island of Førehjelmo lies just to the north of Seløyna, and there is a small bridge connecting to it. The island was once part of the old municipality of Hjelme which existed until 1964. The island is home to two churches: the Old Hjelme Church in the small, coastal village of Hjelmo and the "new" Hjelme Church is centrally located along the main road crossing the island of Seløyna. History BNR It has roots back to 1880 when Lindaas-Masfjorden Dampskibsselskap was created. The company was founded in 1974 when Bergen-Nordhordland Trafikklag, Indre Nordhordland Dampbåtlag and Arna-Osterøy Billag merged.
