Hermann Duckek
Hermann Duckek (* 9. September 1936, Ulm/Donau, Germany, † 3. March 2001, Hørsholm Municipality, Hoersholm, Denmark) was a German farmer and riding-master known for his expertise in equestrian sports surfaces. From 1978 and until his death in 2001 Duckek dedicated his professional life to international equestrian competitions. Known as the "Duke of Dirt" (in German, ), Duckek was considered the world's preeminent authority on riding arenas. He built sports surfaces throughout the world for hundreds of top events, notably at the Olympic games. Background At the age of 26, Duckek decided to hand over the daily running of his parents' farms to another family member, and to turn his hobby, riding, into his ''métier''. Hørsholm Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region in the northern part of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 31 km2, and has a total population of 25,168 (1. January 2025). Gabriela Grillo
Gabriela Grillo (19 August 1952 – 25 February 2024) was a German businesswoman, equestrian and Olympic champion. She won a gold medal in team dressage and placed fourth in individual dressage at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. She achieved gold medals with the team at three European championships. Reiner Klimke
Reiner Klimke (; 14 January 1936 – 17 August 1999) was a German equestrian, who won six gold and two bronze medals in dressage at the Summer Olympics — a record for equestrian events that has since been surpassed. He appeared in six Olympics from 1960 to 1988, excluding the 1980 Games that were boycotted by West Germany. Equestrian career Klimke studied Harry Boldt and Gustaf Rau. He won team gold in 1964, 1968 (both on Dux), 1976 (riding Mehmed), 1984 and 1988 (both with Ahlerich), and the individual gold in 1984 on Ahlerich.
