Notability In The English Wikipedia
In the English Wikipedia, English version of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, notability is a Criteria of truth, criterion to determine whether a topic merits a separate Wikipedia article. It is described in the guideline "Wikipedia:Notability". In general, notability is an attempt to assess whether the topic has "gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time" as evidenced by significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic". The notability guideline was introduced in 2006 and has since been subject to various controversies. Daughters Of The Republic Of Texas
The Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) is a lineal association dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the founding families and soldiers of the Republic of Texas. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas is best known for its former role as caretakers of The Alamo. In early 2015, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush officially removed control of the Alamo to the Texas General Land Office. The DRT were also the custodians of the historic French Legation Museum until 2017, which is owned by the State of Texas and is now operated by the Texas Historical Commission. In addition, they operate a museum in Austin on the history of Texas. The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army (United States Army), Union Navy (U.S. Navy), and the Marines who served in the American Civil War. John More Association
The John More Association (JMA) is a family association for descendants of John and Betty Taylor More. The association was first formed when a group of the couple's descendants wanted to build a memorial marking the grave of John and Betty More in Roxbury, New York. After the monument was built and dedicated in 1890, the gathered descendants decided to form a more permanent organization to hold reunions and care for family sites. The number of descendants of John and Betty More grew from several hundred living people when the first reunion was held to tens of thousands. The association has continued holding reunions in Roxbury every five years since 1890, with the exception of 1945 and 2020. Job's Daughters International
Job's Daughters International is a Masonic affiliated youth organization for girls and young women aged 10 to 19. The organization is commonly referred to as simply Job's Daughters, and sometimes abbreviated as JDI (or IOJD, referring to its longtime former name, International Order of Job's Daughters). Job's Daughters welcomes many religions and cultures. JDI promotes itself as an organization "where girls rule," but there is much adult guidance and assistance. Membership In order to apply for membership in Job's Daughters, one must be a girl between the ages of 10 and 19. To join this organization, an applicant may be either related to a Master Mason or be sponsored by a Majority Member of Job's Daughters and a Master Mason. Jamestowne Society is an organization founded in 1936 by George Craghead Gregory for descendants of stockholders in the Virginia Company of London and the descendants of those who owned land or who had domiciles in Jamestown or on Jamestown Island prior to the year 1700.
