Herbert Wookey
Herbert 'Bob' Gladstone Wookey (1888 – 1953) was a Canadian first-class cricketer. Wookey was born in Canada in 1883. A member of the Toronto Cricket Club, he made a single appearance in first-class cricket for a combined Canada and United States of America cricket team against the touring Australians at Toronto in 1913. Playing as a bowler in the Canada/United States side, he took the wickets of Leslie Cody, Percival Arnott and Granville Down for the cost of 99 runs. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but the term was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. Percival Arnott (9 July 1889 – 23 December 1950) was an Australian cricketer. He played ten first-class matches for New South Wales between 1911/12 and 1912/13. Granville Down
Granville James Stuart Down MC (24 May 1883 – 14 May 1970) was an Australian cricketer and soldier. Down played four first-class matches for South Australia in the 1911–12 season, and three for the Australian team on the tour of North America in 1913. He was a last-minute replacement in the tour side for Victor Trumper, who had to withdraw for business reasons. He was an all-rounder for the Adelaide Club in district cricket. His highest first-class score was 47 for the Australians against Gentlemen of Philadelphia in June 1913. Down enlisted in the Australian Army in January 1915 and served on Gallipoli with the 3rd Australian Light Horse Regiment. He was transferred to the 2nd Division Headquarters as Major Leane's personal clerk. Not Out
In cricket, a batsman is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batsman is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with, so the innings ends. Usually, two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket.
