Herb Conyers
Herbert Leroy Conyers (January 8, 1921 – September 16, 1964) was an American professional baseball player whose career lasted for nine seasons (1941–1942; 1946–1952). A first baseman, he appeared in seven Major League games for the Cleveland Indians during the season. Born in Cowgill, Missouri, Conyers threw and batted left-handed; he stood tall and weighed . Conyers spent almost all of his pro career in the Cleveland minor league organization. His trial with the 1950 Indians came at the beginning and tail end of the season. After going two for four with a base on balls as a pinch hitter between April 18 and May 17, he spent the bulk of the season with Cleveland's two top farm teams, the Oklahoma City Indians and the San Diego Padres. First Baseman
A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. In baseball, an at bat (AB) or time at bat is a batter's turn batting against a pitcher. An at bat is different from a plate appearance. A batter is credited with a plate appearance regardless of what happens upon completion of his turn at bat, but a batter is charged with an at bat only if that plate appearance does not have one of the results enumerated below. While at bats are used to calculate certain statistics, including batting average and slugging percentage, players can qualify for the season-ending rankings in these categories only if they accumulate 502 plate appearances during the season. Knollwood Cemetery
Knollwood Cemetery is a cemetery located at 1678 SOM Center Road in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Established in 1908, it is one of the largest cemeteries in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Cuyahoga County. A mausoleum was completed in 1926, and an expansion finished in 1959. The cemetery's mausoleum, the largest in the state, boasts a number of windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany, Tiffany & Co. Marlin Henry Stuart (August 8, 1918 – June 16, 1994) was an American professional baseball pitcher. The right-hander from Paragould, Arkansas, appeared in 196 games pitched (165 in relief) in Major League Baseball for three American League teams. He batted left-handed and was listed as tall and . San Diego Padres (PCL)
The San Diego Padres were a Minor League Baseball team based in San Diego, California, that competed in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) from 1936 through 1968.
