Hepfidelity
''Hepfidelity'' is the second studio album by Australian singer/songwriter Diesel. The album was released in March 1992 through Chrysalis Records and EMI Records, and held the number-one spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for four weeks. It included the singles " Love Junk", " Come to Me", " Tip of My Tongue", " Man Alive" and "One More Time". The album was certified 3× platinum in Australia. ''Hepfidelity'' was rereleased in Europe in 1993 with 3 bonus studio tracks. These tracks were also released on the 1993 album '' The Lobbyist''. The album was remastered in 2022 for its 30th anniversary as ''Hepfidelity 30'' with a second disc of previously unreleased tracks. Johnny Diesel
Mark Denis Lizotte (born 31 May 1966) is an American-born Australian singer-songwriter and musician, who has released material under the name Diesel, Johnny Diesel, as leader of band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, and as a solo performer, as well as under his Name at birth, birth name. Two of his albums reached No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) ARIA Charts, Albums Charts, ''Hepfidelity'' in 1992 and ''The Lobbyist'' in 1993. Since 1987, Lizotte, has played on several albums by his brother-in law, Australian rock singer, Jimmy Barnes. Although better known as a singer-songwriter and guitarist, Lizotte is also competent on bass guitar, drums, percussion and keyboards; and has also produced an album by Richard Clapton and one by Vika and Linda, Vika and Linda Bull. The Lobbyist
''The Lobbyist'' is the third studio album by American-Australian hard rocker Diesel. It features twelve tracks: four live, five acoustic, and three studio recordings. The album was released on 9 August 1993 via EMI Records and was co-produced by Diesel with Don Gehman. It peaked at No. one on the ARIA Albums Chart and followed directly after his previous number-one album, ''Hepfidelity'' (1992). In New Zealand it reached No. 27. The album's title is in "reference to the amount of time he spends in hotels." Three singles were released from the album: " Never Miss Your Water" (July 1993), " Masterplan" (October) and "I've Been Loving You Too Long" (January 1994). The album was certified gold in Australia. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1994 Diesel won Best Male Artist for the second of three times in a row. Don Gehman
Don Gehman is an American record producer, engineer, and executive, best known for his work with John Mellencamp and Hootie & the Blowfish. AllMusic calls him one of "the most successful producers of the 1980s and 1990s." As a sound engineer, he also helped invent the modern rock P.A. and monitor systems. Early life Gehman was born in Blue Ball, Pennsylvania. As a child, he was interested in science and his parents' Magnavox stereo. His interests evolved from a photography dark room in the basement to chemistry to physics to electronics. Gehman played bass guitar in a rock band when he was fourteen years old. He became interested in music technology after learning how to set up the band's P.A. sound system. He started building his amplifiers. Soon, he was building P.A. systems for events and local bands.
