Henry T. Yang
Henry Tzu-Yow Yang (; born November 29, 1940) is a Chinese American engineer, university administrator, and the fifth and current chancellor of the University of California, Santa Barbara, a post he has held since 1994. Early life and education Yang was born in Chongqing, China, on November 29, 1940. In 1949, his family moved out of Mainland China to Taiwan. Yang earned a B.S. in civil engineering from National Taiwan University in 1962, and later moved to the U.S. to earn an M.S. in structural engineering from West Virginia University in 1965 and a Ph.D. in structural engineering from Cornell University in 1968. West Lafayette () is a city in Wabash Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, United States, about northwest of the state capital of Indianapolis and southeast of Chicago. The finite element method (FEM) is a popular method for numerically solving differential equations arising in engineering and mathematical modeling. Typical problem areas of interest include the traditional fields of structural analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow, mass transport, and electromagnetic potential.
