Henry R. L. Bill
Henry Ryder Locke Bill (March 27, 1870 – December 16, 1942) was a Canadian politician. He represented the electoral district of Shelburne in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1928 to 1941. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. Born in 1870 at Lockeport, Nova Scotia, Bill was a wholesale fish merchant by career. He married Ida L. Silver in 1895. Bill served as mayor of Lockeport from 1905 to 1912 and 1919–1924. Bill also served as a member of the Royal Fisheries Commission from 1927 to 1928. Bill entered provincial politics in 1928, when he was elected in the dual-member Shelburne riding with Liberal Wishart McLea Robertson. Lockeport
Lockeport is a town and port in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a traditional Nova Scotian fishing town, situated on a peninsula in Allendale Bay. It is connected to the mainland by the Crescent Beach causeway. The area that surrounds the bay is known as the "Ragged Islands." History In 1762, two families from Massachusetts journeyed to Nova Scotia in an effort to find a new colony that was closer to the rich fishing grounds of the Grand Banks. When they found the sheltered Allendale Bay, they knew they had found a gem in the rough. Situated halfway between the colonies in New England and the fishing grounds, their new town would be a centre for both fishing and trade. Wishart McLea Robertson
Wishart McLea Robertson, (February 15, 1891 – August 16, 1967) was a politician in Nova Scotia, Canada. Robertson's paternal grandfather, Robert Robertson, was a member of Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1854 until 1878. His father, Thomas Robertson was also a member of the provincial legislature, as well as serving as a Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) from 1882 to 1887. His mother was Josephine Allan. Born in Barrington Passage, Nova Scotia, Wishart Robertson was educated in a Nova Scotia high school. He moved to Brooklyn, United States, to enter business, but returned to Canada in 1916 to join the 219th Battalion and then the 85th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force as a lieutenant. In 1918, he returned to Canada following World War I, and entered the automobile industry. In 1919, Robertson married Ethel Walker.
