Melodifestivalen 2001
Sweden was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song " Listen to Your Heartbeat", written by Thomas G:son and Henrik Sethson, and performed by the group Friends. The Swedish participating broadcaster, (SVT), selected its entry through 2001. Before Eurovision 2001 2001 was the selection for the 41st song to represent at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 42nd time that this system of picking a song had been used. Around 1,800 songs were submitted to (SVT) for the competition, of which 10 were chosen to compete in the show. The final was held in the Malmö Musikteater in Malmö on 23 February 2001, presented by Josefine Sundström and Henrik Olsson, and was broadcast on SVT1. SVT24
SVT24, stylized as svt24, formerly known as SVT 24 (then stylized svt 24) or 24 is a Swedish language TV channel broadcast by Sveriges Television (SVT). It started broadcasting in 1999 as a dedicated news channel. In 2003 it extended its scope to include other current events-related programmes and sports at the weekend. Nowadays the channel mainly consists of news, sports, and entertainment programmes with a focus on reruns from SVT1 and SVT2. History SVT24 launched on 15 March 1999 at 13:15. It started with a news summary followed by an official opening by the CEO of SVT. In the beginning, SVT24 simulcasted with other channels a lot of the time, first on SVT2 and in the summer on SVT1. Melodifestivalen 2007
2007 was the 47th edition of the Swedish music competition , which was organised by (SVT) and took place over a six-week period between 3 February and 10 March 2007. The winner of the competition was the band The Ark with the song " The Worrying Kind", who represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, where they came eighteenth with 51 points. Format The heats for Melodifestivalen 2007 began on 3 February 2007. Ten songs from these heats qualified for the final on 10 March 2007. Second chance round changes On 15 August 2006, SVT announced that the second chance round, which had by then taken place on the Sunday after the last heat, would be turned into a full Saturday night show. That meant that Melodifestivalen 2007 would become a six-week competition, rather than the five-week event it had been the previous years. Lotta Bromé
Charlotta "Lotta" Bromé (born 18 December 1964) is a Swedish radio and television presenter and host. She has been a Christmas Eve host at SVT, won the show '' På spåret'' and hosted various shows for Sveriges Radio. Early life Bromé was born in Skövde, Sweden. When she was ten years old, she travelled to different retirement homes and played the piano. Her mother is a famous revue artist in Skara, while her sister sings in a jazz band. Career Bromé has been a member of a pop band along with Anna Lena Brundin, and they have also written lyrics for singers such as Shirley Clamp.
