Henny Orri
Henriëtte Josephine Orri (5 June 1925 – 4 January 2022) was a Dutch actress. Life and career Born in Amsterdam, Orri studied at the Amsterdam Drama School, graduating in 1947. She mainly worked in theatre, as a member of numerous stage companies, and in 1986 was awarded a Theo d'Or for her performance in Arthur Kopit's ''Wings''. She also appeared in films and television works. Orri was married two times, the first with Ton Lensink, with whom she had a daughter, Diane Lensink, who was also an actress and who died of cancer in 2012. She later remarried to the playwright and stage director Theo Kling, with whom she often collaborated. Orri officially retired in 1996, but nevertheless continued to appear on stage until 2006. In 2015 she received a for her career. She died in Amsterdam on 4 January 2022, at the age of 96. Theo D'Or
The Theo d'Or is a Dutch acting award, given annually to the actress with the most impressive leading role of the theater season. It is awarded by the Vereniging van Schouwburg- en Concertgebouwdirecties (VSCD), the main trade organisation for theaters in The Netherlands. The award itself is a golden medal, currently designed by Eric Claus. It was named after the Dutch actress Theo Mann-Bouwmeester. Its male counterpart is the Louis d'Or, named after Theo's brother, Louis Bouwmeester. The Theo d'Or is awarded annually, along with the other VSCD stage awards, at the Gala of Dutch Theater in the Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam. Arthur Lee Kopit (' Koenig; May 10, 1937 – April 2, 2021) was an American playwright. He was a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist for ''Indians'' and ''Wings''. He was also nominated for three Tony Awards: Best Play for ''Indians'' (1970) and ''Wings'' (1979), as well as Best Book of a Musical for ''Nine'' (1982). He won the Vernon Rice Award (now known as the Drama Desk Award) in 1962 for ''Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad'' and was nominated for another Drama Desk Award in 1979 for ''Wings''. Early life Kopit was born Arthur Lee Koenig in Manhattan on May 10, 1937. His family was of Jewish descent. ''Puppet on a Chain'' is a 1970 British thriller film directed by Geoffrey Reeve and starring Sven-Bertil Taube, Barbara Parkins and Alexander Knox. It is based on the 1969 novel '' Puppet on a Chain'' by Alistair MacLean. The story was Maclean's 14th and the seventh film adaption of a Maclean novel. The film's signature boat chase (8 minutes of screen time) along the canals of Amsterdam reportedly inspired the boat chase in the James Bond movie '' Live and Let Die'' two years later and in the 1988 thriller '' Amsterdamned'', which would also feature a long canal boat chase.
