Henning May
AnnenMayKantereit (occasionally shortened ''AMK'') is a German rock band founded in Cologne in 2011. Their songs are predominantly performed in German, but the band also publishes cover songs in English occasionally. A notable feature of the band's music is the distinct and rough voice of singer Henning May. History The three founding members, whose joint surnames make up the band name, formed a band while at school at the Schiller-Gymnasium in Sülz in 2011. Initially, these three, Annen, May and Kantereit, performed as street musicians in Cologne. At a jam session, they were joined by double bass player Lars Lötgering. In 2013, they released their first, self-recorded album, which had a release party in Gebäude 9 in Cologne. The album, which was partly recorded on the street, is no longer available. Haldern Pop
Haldern Pop is an annual German open air music festival, first held in 1984. It takes place in Rees, Germany, Rees-Haldern (North Rhine-Westphalia). Focus The Haldern Pop Festival cannot be limited to one genre. The focus ranges from experimental metal, punk and indie-pop to jazz, classical concerts and German folk music. Played on several stages in the village of Haldern. Next to the main stage, a mirror tent on the festival grounds will be used for the performances. The other stages are the pub "Haldern Pop Bar", the St. Georg church, a youth center and a recording studio in the village. String Quartet
The term string quartet refers to either a type of musical composition or a group of four people who play them. Many composers from the mid-18th century onwards wrote string quartets. Giant Rooks are a German indie rock band from Hamm, Germany founded in 2014. In 2019, they won the 1Live Krone Award and the Preis für Popkultur in the months following the release of their EP ''Wild Stare''. Their debut album ''Rookery'' was released in August 2020. History The band was founded in 2014 by cousins Frederik Rabe (vocals) and Finn Schwieters (guitar), later joined by fellow schoolmates Jonathan Wischniowski (keyboards) and Finn Thomas (drums). "Tom's Diner" is a song by American singer and songwriter Suzanne Vega. Written in 1981 or 1982, it was first released as a track on the January 1984 issue of '' Fast Folk Musical Magazine''. Originally featured on her second studio album, '' Solitude Standing'' (1987), it was released as a single in Europe only in 1987 following the success of her single " Luka". Hansa Tonstudio is a recording studio located in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin, Germany. The studio, famous for its Meistersaal recording hall, is situated approximately 150 metres from the former Berlin Wall, giving rise to its former nicknames of "Hansa Studio by the Wall" or "Hansa by the Wall". Today, Hansa Studios' fully-restored Meistersaal is used for recording, as well as for concerts and other events.
