Henni Britz
Joseph Hendrik Pieter Britz (born 1966 or 1967) is a South African lawyer and politician who has been a Permanent Delegate to the National Council of Provinces since 2024. A member of the Democratic Alliance, he previously served as a councillor in the Sarah Baartman District Municipality. Early life and education Britz grew up in Petersfield and attended Jan van Riebeeck Primary School in Cape Town. He matriculated from Huguenot Boys' High School in 1984 before going on to study at the University of Pretoria, from which he graduated with B.luris and B.Proc degrees. Britz had to work to support his family and found employment at the Pilkington Glass Factory, the Impala Platinum Refinery and the Jan Smuts Airport (now known as the O.R. KwaThema
KwaThema is a township south-west of Springs in the district of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1951 when Africans were forcibly removed from Payneville because it was considered by the apartheid government to be too close to a white town. The new township's layout was designed along modernist principles and became a model for many subsequent townships, although the envisaged social facilities were not implemented. The typical South African township house, the 51/9, was one of the plans developed for KwaThema. A black local authority with municipal status was established in 1984. Jeffreys Bay
Jeffreys Bay (, nicknamed J-bay) is a town of 27,107 inhabitants as of the 2011 census in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is the seat of the Kouga municipality and is famous amongst surfers as a surf capital due to the right-hand point break at Supertubes Beach. The town is situated just off the N2 Highway, about 75 kilometres southwest of Port Elizabeth. History Jeffreys Bay is named after the senior partner of the firm Jeffrey & Glendinnings who opened a store in 1849 on the location where the town is today. Jeffrey is believed to be the first person to have settled there. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Jeffreys Bay was known as a hippie hangout, where the now-burgeoning surf community originated. Springs, South Africa
Springs is a former independent city that is now part of the City of Ekurhuleni, based in the east of Johannesburg (East Rand), in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It lies east of Johannesburg and southeast from Pretoria. Its name derives from the large number of springs in the area, and its estimated population is more than 121,610 in 2011. It is situated at above sea level. During the apartheid-era, the city was racially segregated under the Group Areas Act. These consisted of middle and upper-income white suburbs around the city centre and the Indian area of Bakerton east of the CBD. A community of black Africans were living in a "black spot" of Springs known as Payneville. The Town Council ordered the creation of a new black township to relieve overcrowding in Payneville. Lusizo Sharon Makhubela-Mashele is a South Africa politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) in the National Assembly for the African National Congress. Career Makhubela-Mashele was ranked 115th on the ANC's national list for the April 2009 general election. She was easily elected to the National Assembly of South Africa as the ANC won 267 seats.
