Hemåt (paper)
''Hemåt'' is a 1969 studio album by the Swedish psychedelic rock band Harvester. ''Hemåt'' is the band's first and only release under the name "Harvester." A year after the release of '' Sov gott Rose-Marie'' the band shortened its name from "International Harvester" to "Harvester". The album is composed by musicians Bo Anders Persson, Thomas Tidholm, Urban Yman, Kjell Westling, Arne Eriksson, Torbjörn Abelli, Thomas Gartz and Ulla. Hemåt continued its predecessor's move towards a nationalist music that was both politically and environmentally charged. The album was recorded in "Kafe Marx", a small cafe owned by the youth league of the Swedish Communist Party. Träd, Gräs & Stenar ("Trees, Grass and Stones") is a Swedish rock band formed in 1969, from previous incarnations Pärson Sound, International Harvester and Harvester. The group was one of the front acts of the Swedish progg scene, although noticeably less political than their contemporary counterparts. Their sound has been described as raw, psych rock jam, by the writer David Pescovitz, who also notes the band would invite their audiences to improvise and collaborate. Sov Gott Rose-Marie
''Sov gott Rose-Marie'' (''Sleep tight, Rose-Marie'') is the 1968 debut album of International Harvester, the second incarnation of the Stockholm-based band Pärson Sound. Pärson Sound's drone-based experimental rock sound, inspired by The Velvet Underground, Terry Riley and the Rolling Stones, was filtered through a more folky, nationally inspired sound, in hopes to "create a more temporary kind of rhythmic music that could play the same role as traditional folk music." The push towards a national, anti-imperialist sound came with the pseudo-dystopian mindset that prevailed in the Sweden of the 1960s, something that stood in dire contrast to the 'peace and love' ethos of hippy idealism. Kommunistiska Förbundet Marxist-Leninisterna (; KFML; ) was formed at the 1967 party congress of VPK, when a pro-Chinese group left the party. Party history 1967–1980 KFML was oriented towards the People's Republic of China and Marxism–Leninism as interpreted by Mao Zedong, commonly known as Maoism. KFML was the first of the many New Left-groups that surged in Sweden during the 1960s and 1970s. KFML had a very important and leading role in the mass solidarity work with the Vietnamese people. In 1970, a left wing faction based in Gothenburg broke away and formed KFML(r). In 1973, KFML took the name Sveriges Kommunistiska Parti (Communist Party of Sweden), the old party name of VPK. "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" is a song written by Bert Berns, Solomon Burke, and Jerry Wexler, and originally recorded by Burke under the production of Berns at Atlantic Records in 1964. Burke's version charted in 1964, but missed the US top 40, peaking at number 58. The song is ranked number 429 on the ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Composition and recording On May 28, 1964, Burke recorded "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" (Atlantic 2241), written by Burke (but also credited to Bert Berns and Jerry Wexler), which was Burke's most prominent bid for an enduring soul standard. Bertrand Russell Berns (November 8, 1929 – December 30, 1967), also known as Bert Russell and (occasionally) Russell Byrd, was an American songwriter and record producer of the 1960s. His songwriting credits include "Twist and Shout", "Piece of My Heart", " Here Comes the Night", "Hang on Sloopy", " Cry to Me" and "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love", and his productions include "Baby, Please Don't Go", "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Under the Boardwalk". Solomon Vincent McDonald Burke (born James Solomon McDonald, March 21, 1940 – October 10, 2010) was an American singer who shaped the sound of rhythm and blues as one of the founding fathers of soul music in the 1960s. Gerald Wexler (January 10, 1917 – August 15, 2008) was a music journalist turned music producer, and was a major influence on American popular music from the 1950s through the 1980s. He coined the term "rhythm and blues", and was integral in signing and/or producing many of the biggest acts of the time, including Ray Charles, the Allman Brothers, Chris Connor, Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, Wilson Pickett, Dire Straits, Dusty Springfield and Bob Dylan.
