Hemsleya Dolichocarpa
''Hemsleya'' is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae. Its native range is Eastern Himalayas to southern China and Papuasia. It is native to the countries of Assam (in India), Bismarck Archipelago (island group, part of Papua New Guinea), China, East Himalayas, Maluku Islands, New Guinea, Thailand and Vietnam. The genus name of ''Hemsleya'' is in honour of William Hemsley (1843–1924), an English botanist. It was first described and published in J. Linn. Soc., Bot. Vol.23 on page 490 in 1888. Alfred Cogniaux
Célestin Alfred Cogniaux (7 April 1841 – 15 April 1916) was a Belgian botanist. Amongst other plants, the genus '' Neocogniauxia'' of orchids is named after him.
