"Helter Skelter" is a song by the English Rock music, rock band the Beatles from their 1968 album ''The Beatles (album), The Beatles'' (also known as the "White Album"). It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. The song was McCartney's attempt to create a sound as loud and dirty as possible. It is regarded as a key influence in the early development of Heavy metal music, heavy metal. In 1976, the song was released as the B-side of "Got to Get You into My Life" in the United States, to promote the Capitol Records compilation ''Rock 'n' Roll Music (album), Rock 'n' Roll Music''. Helter Skelter (scenario)
The Helter Skelter scenario is an apocalyptic vision that was supposedly embraced by Charles Manson and members of his so-called Family. At the trial of Manson and three others for the Tate–LaBianca murders, the prosecution presented it as motivating the crimes and as an aspect of the case for conspiracy. Via interviews and autobiographies, former Family members related what they had witnessed and experienced of it. In both the trial and his subsequent (1974) book, '' Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders'', prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi presented evidence that, in a period that preceded the murders, Manson prophesied what he called ''Helter Skelter'', an apocalyptic war that would arise from racial tensions between black and white people. Helter Skelter (ride)
A helter skelter, or helter-skelter lighthouse, is an amusement ride resembling a lighthouse with a spiral shaped slide built around the tower. Typically, fairgoers climb up a flight of stairs inside the tower and slide down the spiral on the outside using a coir mat. The ride is most prevalent in amusement parks and fairgrounds in the United Kingdom. History The first known appearance of the helter skelter was at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1906, which survived for thirty years until 1935. However, the ride's development began around the turn of the 20th century, when a helter skelter was built on Great Yarmouth's new Britannia Pier. Radio Luxembourg was a multilingual commercial broadcaster in Luxembourg. It is known in most non-English languages as RTL (for Radio Television Luxembourg). The English-language service of Radio Luxembourg began in 1933 as one of the earliest commercial radio stations broadcasting to both the UK and Ireland. I Can See For Miles
"I Can See for Miles" is a song by the English rock band the Who, recorded for the band's 1967 album '' The Who Sell Out''. Written by guitarist Pete Townshend, it was the only song from the album to be released as a single. Composition "I Can See For Miles" was first written and demoed in the spring of 1966, around the time of Shel Talmy's legal case against the Who; Townshend claims to have first written the lyric on the back of his affidavit in the case, with lyrics inspired by the jealousy he felt toward his girlfriend Karen when he saw her with other men. Townshend was so excited by the demo, which he considered his best song up to that point, that he decided to save it for a time when the group would really need a smash hit. Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend (; born 19 May 1945) is an English musician. He is the co-founder, guitarist, keyboardist, second lead vocalist, principal songwriter and leader of the Who, one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s and 1970s.
