Helsingkrona Nation
Helsingkrona Nation, formally Helsingborgs-Landskrona Nation, is one of thirteen Nations in Swedish universities, student nations at Lund University, Sweden. With its 4,028 members, it is the List of Lund University nations, third-largest nation in Lund - ranking behind Lunds Nation, Lunds but ahead of Malmö Nation. History The nation has its origins in one of the university's first nations, Skånska Nationen (named after, and composed of students from Scania) which existed from 1682 to 1833 when it split into five parts, with Helsingkrona being one of them. These four parts are still alive in the form of the Scanian Nations' Joint Committee, which to this day still gives out grants and organizes the quinquennial Gåsafesten ("Goose Fest"). In 1891, the Helsingkrona coat-of-arms, a merging of the coats-of-arms of Helsingborg and Landskrona, was produced and delivered to the Inspektor. Helsingborg (, , ), is a Urban areas in Sweden, city and the seat of Helsingborg Municipality, Scania County, Scania (Skåne), Sweden. It is the second-largest city in Scania (after Malmö) and List of urban areas in Sweden by population, ninth-largest in Sweden, with a population of 151,404 (2024). Helsingborg is the central urban area of northwestern Scania and Sweden's closest point to Denmark: the Danish city Helsingør is clearly visible about to the west on the other side of the Øresund. ''Sydsvenska Dagbladet Snällposten'', generally known simply as ''Sydsvenskan'' (, ), is a daily newspaper published in Scania in Sweden. History and profile ''Sydsvenskan'' was founded in 1870. In 1871 the paper merged with ''Snällposten'' which was started in 1848. ''Sydsvenskan'' is headquartered in Malmö and mostly distributed in southern Scania. Its coverage is characterized by local news from southwest Scania in addition to a full coverage of national, EU, and international news. A nation is a type of social organization where a collective identity, a national identity, has emerged from a combination of shared features across a given population, such as language, history, ethnicity, culture, territory, or society. Hans Alfredson
Hans Folke "Hasse" Alfredson (28 June 1931 – 10 September 2017) was a Swedish actor, film director, writer, and comedian. Born in Malmö, Sweden, he is known for his collaboration with Tage Danielsson as the duo Hasse & Tage and their production company AB Svenska Ord ("Swedish Words Ltd"). His most celebrated contribution to their brand of ''humorist humanism'' was his ability to extemporize wildly absurd comic situations, for example in the Lindeman dialogues. Towards the end of his life, Alfredson made it clear that he preferred his real name, Hans, over the commonly used nickname "Hasse". He was the father of directors Daniel and Tomas Alfredson. Gun Hellsvik
Gun Birgitta Hellsvik (n̩e Blomgren; 27 September 1942 Р14 November 2016) was a Swedish politician for the Moderate Party, who served as Minister for Justice from 1991-1994. A lawyer by training, she worked as a civil law lecturer at Lund University before becoming a full-time politician. She served as Municipal commissioner of Lund 1983-1991, Minister for Justice 1991-1994, member of the Riksdag, chairman of the Riksdag Committee on Justice 1994-2001, President of the Nordic Council 1999, Director General of the Swedish Patent and Registration Office 2001-2007, and chairman of the board of the University of Bor̴s 2004-2007. Gabriel Jönsson
Gabriel Jönsson (18 July 1892 – 23 April 1984) was a Swedish author and poet. He is best known for his works inspired by Öresund and farming. He was one of the first members of the Scanian Academy in Sweden. Early life Jönsson was born into a Baptist family. His father, Peter, was a seaman, but due to back injuries caused by carrying bricks, he started a trading post in Ålabodarna, and later on the island Hven, Husvik. Jönsson's mother was hired to work at the Husvik store and later married Jönsson's father. Peter Jönsson died in 1901, when Jönsson was 7. At that time he had two brothers and one sister. Jönsson’s wish was to become a seaman like his father, but his mother, a businesswoman, wanted him to be educated. She paid for her three sons' education. Johan Stenström
Johan Gunnar Stenström (born 23 August 1951) is a Swedish literary scholar. He works at Lund University as docent (since 2002) and as professor (since 2009). Stenström grew up in Helsingborg. He studied at Malmö Academy of Music and later history of literature at Lund University. He has written books, among them ''Den svenska sångboken ''Den svenska sångboken'' ("The Swedish Song book") is a 1997 Swedish book with 331 songs (in 2003 a new version with 365 songs was published), written by Anders Palm and Johan Stenström. Øresund Bridge
The Øresund or Öresund Bridge is a combined List of road–rail bridges, railway and motorway cable-stayed bridge across the Øresund strait between Denmark and Sweden. It is the second longest bridge in Europe and combines both roadway and railway in a single structure.
