Helmut Bradl
Helmut Bradl (born 17 November 1961) is a German former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He raced exclusively in the 250 class. His best year was in 1991 when he won 5 races on a Honda and ended the season ranked second after a tight points battle with Luca Cadalora. His son Stefan Bradl, won the 2011 Moto2 World Championship. 1986 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 1986 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 38th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. This would be the last season where the Championship was held only in Europe until 2020. Season summary A second world championship for the consistent Eddie Lawson. After a dominating 1985 season, the future looked bright for Honda's Freddie Spencer. However, once the season started, he began to suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. The talented American would never win another Grand Prix after his spectacular 1985 season. Australian Wayne Gardner stepped up to become Honda's lead rider. Randy Mamola, riding for the newly formed Kenny Roberts-Yamaha team continued to post good results and finished third in the points chase. The 1987 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 39th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary Wayne Gardner became Australia's first-ever 500cc World Champion in a season that saw him score points in every Grand Prix. Randy Mamola would finish second yet again, one point ahead of Eddie Lawson despite Lawson's five victories. The first Japanese Grand Prix in 20 years was held at the Suzuka Circuit.
