Hello Yerevan
Hello Yerevan ( hy, Բարև Երևան, translit=Barev Yerevan), was a political alliance in Armenia. It was led by Armen Martirosyan. History The Hello Yerevan alliance was established prior to the 2013 Yerevan City Council election with the intent to participate in the municipal elections. The alliance mainly consisted of members from the Heritage party and included some members from the Democratic Way Party, the Democratic Homeland Party, the Conservative Party, and other political activists. Raffi Hovannisian, leader of the Heritage party launched the alliance's first-day of campaigning with a tree planting ceremony in central Yerevan. Meanwhile, Armen Martirosyan, also a member of the Heritage party, was nominated to lead the alliance and was the alliance's candidate for Mayor of Yerevan. Armen Martirosyan (Heritage)
Armen Martirosyan ( hy, Արմեն Մարտիրոսյան; born 30 September 1973) is an Armenian politician from the Heritage party. Early life Armen Martirosyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia SSR, Soviet Union on 30 September 1973. In 1994, he graduated from the Combat Sports faculty of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture. He is a judo coach, physical training teacher, pedagogical sciences candidate and senior professor. Martirosyan then served in the Armed Forces of Armenia in 1994 and 1995. Afterwards, he returned to the State Institute of Physical Culture as a professor. He became a senior professor in 2001 and, from 2002 to 2004, worked as head of the division of Foreign Relations. The Yerevan City Council () is the lawmaking body of the city of Yerevan, the capital and largest city of Armenia. It has 65 members elected by Party-list proportional representation system, headed by the Mayor of Yerevan. The Council serves as a check against the mayor in a mayor-council government model. The council monitors performance of city agencies and makes land use decisions, as well as, legislating on a variety of other issues.
