Hello Mr. Billionaire
''Hello Mr. Billionaire'' () is a 2018 Chinese comedy film directed by Fei Yan and Damo Peng, loosely based on the 1902 novel ''Brewster's Millions'', and the 1985 film of the same name. It was released in China on 27 July 2018. Plot A lousy goalie discovers he is the heir of a billionaire, and gets a mission: spend CN¥ 1 billion in thirty days. If he successed, he will get CN¥30 billion inheritance. However, he is not allowed to tell anyone about his mission, and he must not own any valuables at the end. In the end it is revealed that the true way to earn the money was to save his love's life, which he ends up doing. ''Brewster's Millions'' is a comedic novel written by George Barr McCutcheon in 1902, originally under the pseudonym of Richard Greaves. The plot concerns a young man whose grandfather leaves him $1 million in a will, but a competing will from another relative requires he must spend the $1 million in the first year or forfeit a $7 million inheritance from the other relative. It was adapted into a play in 1906, which opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway, and the novel or play has been adapted into films thirteen times, four of which were produced in India. Plot summary The novel revolves around Montgomery Brewster, a young man who inherits one million dollars from his rich grandfather. Shortly after, a rich uncle also dies. George Barr McCutcheon (July 26, 1866 – October 23, 1928) was an American popular novelist and playwright. His best known works include a series of novels set in Graustark, a fictional East European country, and the novel ''Brewster's Millions'', which was adapted into a play and several films. Life McCutcheon was born in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. His father, despite his own lack of formal education, stressed the value of literature and encouraged his sons to write. During McCutcheon's childhood, his father had a number of jobs that required travel around the county. McCutcheon studied at Purdue University and was a roommate of future humorist George Ade.
