Hell Creek Recreation Area
Hell Creek Recreation Area is a public recreation area managed by the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana occupying on the south side of Fort Peck Lake due north of the community of Jordan, Montana. The recreation area sits on the western side of Hell Creek Bay and includes a year-round marina and facilities for water sports, camping, and fishing for walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass. The park is managed under a no-cost lease arrangement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Garfield County is a county located in the U.S. state of Montana. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,173. Its county seat is Jordan. Garfield County is noteworthy as the site of the discovery and excavation of four of the world's dozen or so major specimens (as of 1994) of ''Tyrannosaurus rex''. Jordan, Montana
Jordan is a town in and the county seat of Garfield County, Montana, United States. The population was 356 at the 2020 census. It is Garfield County's only incorporated community. History Jordan was settled in 1896. The founder, Arthur Jordan, had hunted the area and decided to settle with his family in 1896 along the banks of the Big Dry Creek. A post office was opened in Jordan on July 11, 1899. Afterward, a town began building around the post office. There were saloons, rooming houses, livery stables, blacksmiths, and stores. In the later part of the 1910s, the homestead boom hit Garfield County, which was then actually part of Dawson County to the east. By 1919, the citizens reached a consensus to form a county of their own, therefore establishing Garfield County. Jordan was finally chosen as the county seat, by popular vote. Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana (Ojibwe language: Esensininiwag) is a federally recognized tribe of Ojibwe, Métis, and Cree people in Montana. The name of the tribe is often shortened to Little Shell. In 2023, the population of enrolled tribal members is approximately 6,900. The Tribe's headquarters is in Great Falls, in a 35,000-sq. foot office complex. The Little Shell Tribe is named after its 19th-century leader, ''Esens'', known as "Little Shell." Fort Peck Lake
Fort Peck Lake, or Lake Fort Peck, is a major reservoir in Montana, formed by the Fort Peck Dam on the Missouri River. The lake lies in the eastern prairie region of Montana approximately east of Great Falls and north of Billings, reaching into portions of six counties. Walleye

The Bortle dark-sky scale (usually referred to as simply the Bortle scale) is a nine-level numeric scale that measures the night sky's brightness of a particular location.
