Hede Bühl
Hede Bühl (8 June 1940, Haan, near Düsseldorf) is a German sculptor who lives and works in Düsseldorf. She studied under Joseph Beuys and worked in the studio of Ewald Mataré. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Villa Romana prize (1973), the Villa Massimo fellowship (1979), and the Käthe Kollwitz Prize from the Academy of Arts, Berlin (2007). Düsseldorf is the capital city of North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous state of Germany. It is the second-largest city in the state after Cologne and the List of cities in Germany with more than 100,000 inhabitants, seventh-largest city in Germany, with a 2022 population of 629,047. Haus Der Kunst
The ''Haus der Kunst'' (, ''House of Art'') is a museum for modern and contemporary art in Munich, Bavaria. It is located at Prinzregentenstraße 1 at the southern edge of the Englischer Garten, Munich's largest park. It was built between 1933 and 1937 at the behest of Adolf Hitler and to a monumental neo-classical design by Paul Troost as ''Haus der deutschen Kunst''. Union List Of Artist Names
The Union List of Artist Names (ULAN) is a free online database of the Getty Research Institute using a controlled vocabulary, which by 2018 contained over 300,000 artists and over 720,000 names for them, as well as other information about artists. Names in ULAN may include given names, pseudonyms, variant spellings, names in multiple languages, and names that have changed over time (e.g., married names). Among these names, one is flagged as the preferred name. Although it is displayed as a list, ULAN is structured as a thesaurus, compliant with ISO and NISO standards for thesaurus construction; it contains hierarchical, equivalence, and associative relationships. The focus of each ULAN record is an artist. In the database, each artist record (also called a subject) is identified by a unique numeric ID. Nordhorn (; Northern Low Saxon: ''Nothoorn'', or ''Notthoarn'', ''Netthoarn,'' and Dutch: ''Noordhoorn'') is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the district seat of Grafschaft Bentheim, located in the southwest corner of the state, near the border of the Netherlands and North Rhine-Westphalia. Etymology There are several theories about the origin of Nordhorn's name. One possibility is that the name originates from a horn (referred to as the ''Nothorn'', or emergency horn) used by watchmen to warn the inhabitants of Vechteinsel (Vechte Island) if there was an attack. Additionally, the town's location north of Bentheim (now Bad Bentheim) and its castle may have contributed to this name. Another theory suggests that boatmen on the river Vechte used horns to communicate during foggy conditions.
