Hebden Bridge Railway Station
Hebden Bridge railway station serves the town of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire, England. The station is on the Calder Valley Line, operated by Northern since April 2016, from York and Leeds towards Manchester Victoria and Preston. The station is west of Halifax and west of Leeds. History The Manchester and Leeds Railway, authorised in 1836 for a line from Manchester to , was opened in stages; the second section, between Normanton and Hebden Bridge, opened on 5 October 1840. Trains arrived at Hebden Bridge from Normanton and passengers would then continue to by road. The section between Hebden Bridge and Summit Tunnel opened on 31 December 1840, allowing trains to reach ; after Summit Tunnel opened on 1 March 1841, trains continued to Littleborough and Manchester. Hebden Bridge
Hebden Bridge is a market town in the Calderdale district of West Yorkshire, England. It is in the Upper Calder Valley, west of Halifax and 14 miles (21 km) north-east of Rochdale, at the confluence of the River Calder and the Hebden Water. The town is the largest settlement in the civil parish of Hebden Royd. In 2015, the Calder ward, covering Hebden Bridge, Old Town, and part of Todmorden, had a population of 12,167. The town had a population of 4,500. History The original settlement was the hilltop village of Heptonstall. Hebden Bridge (''Heptenbryge'') started as a settlement where the Halifax to Burnley packhorse route dropped into the valley and crossed the River Hebden where the old bridge (from which it gets its name) stands. The Calder Valley line (also previously known as the Caldervale line) is a railway route in Northern England between the cities of Leeds and Manchester as well as the seaside resort of Blackpool. It is the slower of the two main rail routes between Leeds and Manchester (the other being the Huddersfield line), and the northernmost of the three main trans-Pennine routes. Hebden Royd is a civil parish in the metropolitan borough of Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England. It contains 254 Listed building#England and Wales, listed buildings that are recorded in the National Heritage List for England. Of these, twelve are at Grade II*, the middle of the three grades, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade. The parish contains the market town of Hebden Bridge, the large village of Mytholmroyd, the valley to the south of Mytholmroyd which contains the village of Cragg Vale, and the surrounding area. British Rail Class 195
The British Rail Class 195 is a class of diesel multiple-unit passenger train from the CAF Civity, Civity family manufactured by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, CAF, owned by Eversholt Rail Group and currently operated by Northern Trains. A total of 58 units have been built; 25 two-car units and 33 three-car units. The class is almost identical to the British Rail Class 331, Class 331 also produced by CAF, which is the electric version of the Class 195, differing only in traction type and (in some units) vehicle formation. A rail operating centre (ROC) is a building that houses all signallers, signalling equipment, ancillaries and operators for a specific region or route on the United Kingdom's main rail network. The ROC supplants the work of several other Signalling control, signal boxes which have thus become redundant. Bradford Interchange is a transport interchange in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, which consists of a railway station and bus station adjacent. The Interchange, which was designed in 1962, was hailed as a showpiece of European design and was opened on 14 January 1973. It is served by the majority of bus services in the city centre, while the railway station, which is one of two in the city centre (along with ), is served by Northern and is also the terminus for Grand Central services from London King's Cross. On 4 January 2024, a large chunk of concrete was found to have fallen from the Interchange's underground car park ceiling, situated directly underneath the Interchange's bus station. Bradford Exchange Railway Station
Bradford Exchange railway station served the city of Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, from 1850 to 1973, before being replaced by a smaller, new-build station, which was later called Bradford Interchange. Railway lines from Halifax, West Yorkshire, Halifax, Queensbury, West Yorkshire, Queensbury, Wakefield and Leeds met south of the city centre with services terminating in the station.
