"Heartbreak Hotel" is the 641st episode of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'' and the second episode of season 30. The episode was written by Renee Ridgeley and Matt Selman. In the episode, Marge and Homer take part in a reality TV show. Plot The Simpson family is watching a reality TV survival show called ''The Amazing Place''. Marge reveals her expert knowledge of the show's contestant challenges comes from her lifetime of watching the past 47 seasons. Bart and Lisa heavily encourage Homer and Marge to audition, but Marge shows them samples from their past tryouts for the show, which were all rejected. Lisa edits the efforts into a new submission without telling Marge and Homer, and shows it to the producers at an in-person audition. The producers are attracted to the idea of rewarding an ultimate fan of the show and the show's host Tad Tuckerbag visits Homer and Marge to invite them onto the show. Steven Dean Moore
Steven Dean Moore is an American animation director. His credits include 65 episodes of the animated television series ''The Simpsons'' and several episodes of the Nickelodeon series ''Rugrats'' (1991–2004). Tony Sokol (born March 23, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, United States) is an American playwright, writer and composer, best known for writing the theatrical horror series La Commedia Del Sangue: Vampyr Theatre in New York City. As a musician, Sokol played guitar, bass or sang in Queer Jesus, The Others, Busted Chops, Head First, 4Q, Death of the Party and the Abstract 4. It was a part of Nexstar Media Group's Zap2it television news/listings site. History An Internet and statistical analyst, Robert Seidman had previously worked for IBM and Charles Schwab, and published an online newsletter about the Internet and AOL before founding TV by the Numbers; Bill Gorman had been an AOL executive until 1998, and had read Seidman's column. Friends since the early 1990s when they met near Washington, D.C., both were fond of television, as Gorman loved numbers and Seidman enjoyed statistics relating to it; the subject of television ratings data entered into one of their conversations.
