HeartSupport
HeartSupport is a mental health-based non-profit organization that offers peer support to help individuals within the metal community who struggle with their mental health. The non-profit was founded by Jake Luhrs, vocalist of the band August Burns Red, in 2011. Their mission statement is "Heal The Scene". History HeartSupport was founded by Jake Luhrs in 2011 after fans shared their personal traumas with him while he ran August Burns Red's merch booth. Inspired by these conversations, Luhrs wanted to create a supportive community where people, including fans he had already connected with, could share their stories. In 2013, HeartSupport toured with August Burns Red during the Vans Warped Tour of that year. In 2016, HeartSupport's founder, Jake Luhrs, won the Artist Philanthropic Award at the APMA Awards for his work with the organization. Jake Luhrs
William Jacob Luhrs is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of the metalcore band August Burns Red. He is also the founder and president of HeartSupport, a non-profit mental health organization. Musical background Luhrs was influenced to pursue music after attending a Strike Anywhere concert, where he had a memorable interaction with the band's lead singer, Thomas Barnett. He first entered the music scene in Columbia, South Carolina where he was the frontman for a band known as She Walks In Beauty. The band released two EPs on which Luhrs was featured but eventually disbanded. After vocalist Josh McManness left, Luhrs got in touch with August Burns Red through Myspace which started his career with the band. Lacey Nicole Sturm ( Mosley, previously Carder; born September 4, 1981) is an American singer and songwriter, known for being lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Flyleaf (band), Flyleaf. Tim Lambesis
Timothy Peter Lambesis (born November 21, 1980) is an American musician, producer, and songwriter. He is best known as the founding member, lead vocalist, and the sole continuous member of the metalcore band As I Lay Dying. Lambesis was arrested in 2013 after attempting to hire an undercover police officer to murder his wife. He pled guilty in 2014 and became a convicted felon. He was sentenced to serve six years in prison and was released on parole in December 2016. Since his release, he has gone through 2 different lineups of As I Lay Dying and released the albums '' Shaped by Fire'' and '' Through Storms Ahead'' in 2019 and 2024 respectively. As I Lay Dying is an American metalcore band from San Diego, California. Andrew Dennis Biersack (born December 26, 1990), formerly known as Andy Six, is an American singer. He is the founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Black Veil Brides and is its only remaining original member. In 2014, he started a solo music project under the moniker Andy Black and released his debut album, '' The Shadow Side'', in 2016. Jesse David Leach (born July 3, 1978) is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist of the metalcore band Killswitch Engage. He is also a vocalist for Times of Grace and The Weapon.
