''Half-Life'' is a series of first-person shooter, first-person shooter games created by Valve Corporation, Valve. The games combine shooting combat, puzzles and storytelling, and are played entirely from the first-person (video games), first-person perspective. Alyx Vance
Alyx Vance is a fictional character from Valve's ''Half-Life'' video game series. She is introduced as a non-playable, supporting character in '' Half-Life 2'' (2004), accompanying the player's character, Gordon Freeman, throughout much of the game. She subsequently appears in a similar capacity in '' Half-Life 2: Episode One'' (2006) and '' Episode Two'' (2007), and as the titular protagonist of the VR game '' Half-Life: Alyx'' (2020). Alyx is portrayed as a young woman in her mid-twenties of Afro-Asian descent, and is a prominent figure in the human resistance against the rule of the alien empire called the Combine and their human representative, Dr. Wallace Breen. Running Gag
A running gag, or running joke, is a literary device that takes the form of an amusing joke or a comical reference and appears repeatedly throughout a work of literature or other form of storytelling. Though they are similar, catchphrases are not considered to be running gags. Running gags can begin with an instance of unintentional humor that is repeated in variations as the joke grows familiar and audiences anticipate reappearances of the gag. Bernard "Barney" Fife is a fictional character in the American television program ''The Andy Griffith Show'', portrayed by comic actor Don Knotts. Barney Fife is a deputy sheriff in the slow-paced, sleepy, southern community of Mayberry, North Carolina. Jesse Donald Knotts (July 21, 1924February 24, 2006) was an American actor and comedian. He is widely known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife on the 1960s sitcom ''The Andy Griffith Show'', for which he earned five Emmy Awards. He also played Ralph Furley on the sitcom ''Three's Company'' from 1979 to 1984. He starred in multiple comedic films, including leading roles in ''The Incredible Mr. Limpet'' (1964) and ''The Ghost and Mr. Chicken'' (1966). Michael David Shapiro ( ) (born December 29, 1965) is an American actor. He is best known for voicing the G-Man and Barney Calhoun in the ''Half-Life'' video game series.
