Head Games (song)
"Head Games" is the title-cut and second single taken from the band Foreigner's third release. It was written by Lou Gramm and Mick Jones, and released primarily in the U.S. in November 1979 while at the same time, "Love On The Telephone" was being released elsewhere. The song's b-side, "Do What You Like" uses multi-layered harmony vocals along the lines of their earlier single, " Cold as Ice." Background The lyrics of "Head Games" "express anguish and disappointment over a love affair. Foreigner is a British-American rock band formed in New York City in 1976. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist Lou Gramm, guitarist Mick Jones (Foreigner guitarist), Mick Jones, drummer Dennis Elliott, keyboardist Al Greenwood, multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald (musician), Ian McDonald (formerly of King Crimson), and bassist Ed Gagliardi. Foreigner is one of the List of best-selling music artists, best-selling bands of all time, with worldwide sales exceeding 80 million records, including 38 million in the US. The Babys are a British Rock music, rock group best known for their songs "Isn't It Time (The Babys song), Isn't It Time" and "Every Time I Think of You". Both songs were composed by Jack Conrad and Raymond Louis Kennedy, Ray Kennedy, and each reached No. 13 on the U.S. ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Billboard Hot 100, Hot 100 and No. 8 on the ''Cashbox (magazine), Cashbox'' chart in the late 1970s. Dennis Leslie Elliott (born 18 August 1950,) is a British musician and artist who was the original drummer for the rock band Foreigner (band), Foreigner. He played with the band from 1976 until leaving between 1991 and 1993. He went on to become a sculptor. Life and career Dennis Leslie Elliott was born in Peckham, London. He played the drums with his family band at age five in shows around London. As a teenager, he joined The Tea Set with his older brother Raymond, who sang and played trumpet. After The Tea Set, he became a member of The Shevelles at age sixteen. At eighteen, he played in the band The Ferris Wheel (band), Ferris Wheel and on their album of the same name. Richard William Wills (born 5 December 1947) is an English bass guitarist. He is best known for his work with the rock band Foreigner and his associations with the Small Faces, Roxy Music, Peter Frampton, Spooky Tooth, David Gilmour, Bad Company and The Jones Gang. Career Rick Wills played in the early days of rock music in Cambridge, from c. 1961 in the Vikings, then in a succession of local bands: the Sundowners, Soul Committee, Bullitt (with David Gilmour on guitar and John 'Willie' Wilson on drums) and Cochise before joining ''Frampton's Camel''. Wills joined the rock band Jokers Wild in mid-1966, (with David Gilmour on guitars and vocals), until they broke up in 1967. Michael Leslie Jones (born 27 December 1944) is an English musician, songwriter and record producer, best known as the founder and leader of the British-American rock band Foreigner (band), Foreigner. Prior to Foreigner, he was in the band Spooky Tooth. Early life Michael Leslie Jones was born on 27 December 1944 in Portsmouth, England. Jones started playing guitar at an early age, and decided to pursue a career in music. Career He began his professional music career in the early 1960s as a member of the band Nero and the Gladiators, who scored two minor British hit singles in 1961.
