Hawthorne High School is a public high school located in Hawthorne, California, within the Centinela Valley Union High School District. It opened in 1951 with 9th and 10th grades. The first graduating senior class was that of 1954. It is most notable for its association with The Beach Boys, whose original members Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson, and Al Jardine attended the school. Coincidentally, Olivia Trinidad Arias, who later became Olivia Harrison ( George Harrison’s wife), also attended; she graduated in 1965. Hawthorne High School is a cross-town rival with Leuzinger High School. Hawthorne High School and Middle School is a grades 6-12 public high school and middle school in Hawthorne, Florida, United States. Its boundary includes Hawthorne and Waldo. Athletics Hawthorne High and Middle School offers many different sports, including basketball, baseball, cheerleading, football, softball, volleyball, and track. In 2020, Hawthorne High School won Florida state championships in division 1A for both its girls and boys basketball teams, while its football team also advanced to the state championship game for the first time in the school's history. Hawthorne's football team appeared in the state championship from the 2020 to the 2023 seasons, winning the state title in the latter two years. Hawthorne High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in 9th through twelfth grades from Hawthorne, in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The school operates as the lone secondary school of the Hawthorne Public Schools. As of the 2023–24 school year, the school had an enrollment of 612 students and 52.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.6:1. Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences is a high school in the Belmont community of Charlotte, North Carolina. The school existed in many forms before becoming CMS's first medical magnet program designed for a student capacity of 600–800. Renovation of the original buildings, constructed between the 1940s and 1960s, was completed in 2015 by Morris-Berg Architects of Charlotte. U.S. News & World Report ranked Hawthorne 36th for high schools within North Carolina. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP® participation rate at Hawthorne High is 93%. The total minority enrollment is 88%, and 58% of students are economically disadvantaged.
