HawkEye 360 is an American geospatial analytics company headquartered in Herndon, Virginia. The company specializes in the collection and analysis of radio frequency (RF) signal location data using a constellation of satellites. History HawkEye 360 was founded in 2015 to leverage small satellites for the commercial collection and geolocation of RF signals. The company received seed financing from Allied Minds, a venture capital firm based in Boston. In 2016, HawkEye 360 began contracting the construction of their Pathfinder cluster of satellites with Deep Space Industries (DSI) and University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies Space Flight Laboratory (UTIAS SFL). Electron is a two-stage, partially reusable orbital launch vehicle developed by Rocket Lab, an American aerospace company with a wholly owned New Zealand subsidiary. Servicing the commercial small satellite launch market, it is the third most launched small-lift launch vehicle in history. Its Rutherford engines are the first electric-pump-fed engine to power an orbital-class rocket. Electron is often flown with a kickstage or Rocket Lab's Photon spacecraft.
