was a List of towns in Japan, town located in Tōhaku District, Tottori, Tōhaku District, Tottori Prefecture, Japan. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 8,011 and a population density of 655.03 persons per km2. The total area was 12.23 km2. On October 1, 2004, Hawai, along with the town of Tōgō, Tottori, Tōgō, and the village of Tomari, Tottori, Tomari (all from Tōhaku District, Tottori, Tōhaku District), was merged to create the town of Yurihama, Tottori, Yurihama. Hawai, India
Hawai is the district headquarters of Anjaw District (created in 2004) in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in north-east India. Location It is located at an altitude of 1296 m above sea level on the banks of the Lohit River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra River. It is nearly 50 km south of Walong airstrip, 80 km south of India-China LAC (at Kaho), and 120 km southwest of Diphu Pass near India-China-Myanmar tri-junction. Etymology "Hawai" in Kaman Mishmi dialect means "Pond". The Mishmi are the main ethnic tribe in Anjaw District. Transport The proposed Mago-Thingbu to Vijaynagar Arunachal Pradesh Frontier Highway along the McMahon Line, (will intersect with the proposed East-West Industrial Corridor Highway) and will pass through this district, alignment map of which can be seen here and here. Hāwai
Hāwai is a coastal settlement in the Ōpōtiki District and Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. History Hāwai is in the ''rohe'' (traditional tribal area) of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui. Te Whānau ā Apanui placed a ''rāhui'' on over 130 kilometres of coastline, west from Hāwai, following the 2019 Whakaari / White Island eruption. During the 2020 coronavirus lockdown, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui set up road checkpoints to monitor and restrict travel into and through Hāwai. The restrictions were supported by Ōpōtiki District Council and New Zealand Police. According to ''The Guardian'', the checkpoints operated 24 hours a day, unlike checkpoints set up by other iwi in other settlements. The restrictions lasted 47 days, from 12pm on 25 March until the delivery of a karakia at 12pm on 11 May.
