Haverfordwest Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the town of Haverfordwest, West Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. Haverfordwest (, ; cy, Hwlffordd ) is the county town of Pembrokeshire, Wales, and the most populous urban area in Pembrokeshire with a population of 14,596 in 2011. It is also a community, being the second most populous community in the county, with 12,042 people, after Milford Haven. The suburbs include the former parish of Prendergast, Albert Town and the residential and industrial areas of Withybush (housing, retail parks, Withybush General Hospital, hospital, Withybush Airport, airport and showground). WRU Division Three West A
The Welsh Rugby Union Division Three West A is a rugby union league in Wales. The founding of the Division in 2014 was a result of the decision by the Welsh Rugby Union to localise club rugby, after they concluded that players were not willing to travel long distances to play their matches. Competition format Competition There are 10 clubs in the WRU Division Three West A. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to May) each club plays every other team twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents for a total of 18 games for each club, with a total of 180 games in each season. Teams receive four points for a win and two points for a draw, an additional bonus point is awarded to either team if they score four tries or more in a single match. No points are awarded for a loss though the losing team can gain a bonus point for finishing the match within seven points of the winning team. Scarlets
The Scarlets () are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup (which replaced the Heineken Cup from the 2014–15 season). The club was originally named the Llanelli Scarlets but was renamed at the start of the 2008–09 rugby season. Phoenix (mythology)
The phoenix is an immortal bird associated with Greek mythology (with analogs in many cultures) that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. Peter Morgan (rugby Player)
Peter John Morgan (born 1 January 1959) is a former Welsh international rugby union player. He played on the wing. In 1980 he toured South Africa with the British Lions and at the time played club rugby for Llanelli RFC. Playing career Morgan played rugby from a young age including selection for the Welsh Youth team. After a spell playing with Haverfordwest RFC he switched to first class team Llanelli. In 1979 Morgan was a member of the Llanelli sevens team which won the Snelling Sevens and he was awarded the Everson Award as the player of the tournament. It was as a Llanelli player he was first selected for the Wales national team in the encounter with Scotland during the 1980 Five Nations Championship. In the same year he was chosen to represent the British Lions on their 1980 tour of South Africa. Richard Summers
Richard Henry Bowlas Summers (30 July 1860 – 22 December 1941) was a Welsh rugby union fullback who played club rugby for Haverfordwest and international rugby for Wales. Summers was a member of the very first Wales international team, that faced England in 1881. Rugby career Summers first played rugby for Cowbridge Grammar School as a schoolboy, but in May 1879 he left Cowbridge for a place at Cheltenham College, which he also represented.Smith (1980), pg 38. In July 1880 he left Cheltenham and returned to his home town of Haverfordwest where he turned out for local club Haverfordwest RFC.
