Havana 3am
Havana 3am was a British-American rock supergroup formed in 1986 by singer/guitarist Nigel Dixon (previously of the band Whirlwind), guitarist Gary Myrick, and bassist Paul Simonon (previously of the Clash). The band also included Travis Williams, a drummer whom they later found by a newspaper announcement. The band's name was taken from the title of a 1956 album by Pérez Prado. Havana 3am's music incorporated elements of rockabilly, Latin and reggae influences. The band eventually signed a worldwide record deal with I.R.S. Records, then travelled to Japan to record with audio engineer Masahiko Yamazaki at a studio in Tokyo. Gary Myrick
Gary Myrick is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. Career Born in Dallas, Texas, Gary Myrick played guitar and sang in Dallas and neighboring Fort Worth starting as a teenager. Eventually, he built a significant enough reputation to be asked to join Austin, Texas band Krackerjack, replacing Stevie Ray Vaughan who had left to begin his solo career. After belonging with KrackerJack, Gary formed a band called Slip o’the Wrist that played nothing but original Texas blues rock songs. After relocating to Los Angeles, California, he formed Gary Myrick & the Figures, releasing a self-titled album in 1980 which included the hit "She Talks in Stereo", which peaked at number 56 in Australia.
