Abdulaziz Hatem Mohammed Abdullah (; born 28 October 1990) is a Qatari professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Al Rayyan and captains the Qatar national football team. Club career Hatem began his professional career with Al-Arabi SC in 2007 and moved to Al-Gharafa SC in 2015. In July 2019 he joined Al-Rayyan SC. Family and early life Shafick George Hatem was born into a Lebanese-American family in upstate New York. His father Nahoum Salaama Hatem moved to the United States from the village of Hammana in the Metn mountains of Lebanon in 1902, to take a job at a textile mill in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In 1909, on a trip to Lebanon, Nahoum married Thamam Joseph, a woman two years younger from the village of Bahannes. George Hatem's parents were of Maronite background. Euclydes Hatem (; September 16, 1914 – September 26, 1984), known as Mestre Tatu (), was a Brazilian catch wrestler, known for being the founder of the martial art of Luta Livre.
