Hat-trick (cricket)
In cricket, a hat-trick occurs when a bowler takes three wickets from three consecutive deliveries. The deliveries may be interrupted by an over bowled by another bowler from the other end of the pitch or the other team's innings, but must be three consecutive deliveries by the individual bowler in the same match. Only wickets attributed to the bowler count towards a hat-trick; run outs do not count, although they can contribute towards a so-called team hat-trick, which is ostensibly a normal hat-trick except that the three successive deliveries can be wickets from any bowler in the team and with any mode of dismissal. Hat-tricks are rare, and as such are treasured by bowlers. The term is also sometimes used to mean winning the same competition three times in a row. For example, Australia winning the Cricket World Cup in 1999, 2003 and 2007, and Lancashire winning the County Championship in 1926, 1927 and 1928. Test cricket In Test cricket history there have been just 48 ha ...

Hat-trick (magic Trick)
The hat-trick is a classic magic trick where a performer will produce an object (traditionally a rabbit or a flower bouquet, bouquet of flowers) out of an apparently empty top hat. Method In its simplest form, the trick works by placing the hat on a specially made table or chest, often a hole in both the hat and the table. Both the hat, and the surface it is placed on, will have a hidden opening in them, through which an object stored in a compartment in the table or chest can be pulled. Alternatively, the performer can produce an item hidden in their sleeve using sleight of hand and Misdirection (magic), misdirection. This eliminates the need to place the hat on a surface, and also allows the performer to give the hat to an audience member for inspection. However, producing a rabbit from a hat using nothing but sleight of hand is a much more difficult trick. This trick is also traditionally performed for children, since it is a basic trick with basic props. It is said that ...

Hat Trick (America Album)
''Hat Trick'' is the third studio album by the American folk rock trio America, released on Warner Bros. Records in 1973. It peaked at number 28 on the ''Billboard'' album chart; it failed to go gold, whereas the group's first two releases had platinum sales. The album produced the single, " Muskrat Love", which reached number 67 on the ''Billboard'' singles chart and number 11 on the adult contemporary chart. That song would become a much bigger hit for Captain & Tennille three years later. Production America employed string arrangements for the first time on an album, with the assistance of Jim Ed Norman. Reception In his AllMusic review, Mike DeGagne wrote that the album faltered "mainly because the songs lacked the cordial folk-rock melodies and mindful songwriting that prevailed on the earlier releases. "She's Gonna Let You Down" and "Rainbow Song" are the album's best cuts, but banal offerings such as "Green Monkey", "Willow Tree Lullaby", and "Molten Love" have Bunnell ...

Sente Technologies (also known as Bally Sente, Inc.) was an arcade game company. Founded as Videa in 1982 by ex-Atari employees Roger Hector, Wendi Allen (then known as Howard Delman), and Ed Rotberg, the company was bought by Nolan Bushnell and made a division of his Pizza Time Theatre company in 1983. In 1984 the division was acquired by Bally Midway who continued to operate it until closing it down in 1988. The name Sente, like Atari, is another reference to Bushnell's favorite game, Go and means "having the initiative." Videa Videa developed their first games, Gridlee (a.k.a. Pogoz, an arcade game), Lasercade (for the Atari 2600) and Atom Smasher (a.k.a. Meltdown, also for the Atari 2600) in 1982 with the intent of entering both the arcade and home console market in 1983. An attempt was made to get Gottlieb to distribute Gridlee and Fox to release Lasercade and Atom Smasher (also known as Meltdown) but all three failed to come to market.
