Hashim Khamis Hassan
Hashim Khamis Hassan (; born 17 July 1969) is an Iraqi football goalkeeper who played for the Iraq in the 2000 Asian Cup. He also played for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. He is known as Hashim Tayara (aeroplane). Hashim Khamis arrived onto the international scene in 1993, but only became a regular under Najih Humoud six years later at the 2000 Asian Cup qualifiers. Iraqi legend Habib Jafar once described him as being around the same level as Mohamad Al-Daeyea; the Saudi Arabian goalkeeper widely recognised as one of the best keepers in Asia. Hashim was heavily criticised for Iraq’s 4-1 defeat in the 2000 Asian Cup quarterfinals by Japan and was one of the many players including Essam Hamad and Hussam Fawzi that were later dropped by coach Milan Zivadinovic during the naming of Iraq’s 2002 World Cup qualifying squad. Najih Humoud
Najeh Humoud (Arabic: ناجح حمود حريب) is a former football coach of Najaf FC and Iraq. He played in midfield for Kufa FC in the 1970s, and the Najaf province team but never managed to play in the Iraqi first division. He began his coaching career with Najaf FC in 1987, and helped the club to their first ever cup in 1998 as his team beat Al-Shorta 4-0 at the Al Shaab Stadium to lift the Umm Al-Maarak Cup. He went on to manage the Iraqi youth team in 1998 and worked as Zoran Smileski's assistant at the 1998 Asian Youth Championship. Najeh then coached the Iraq national football team in 1999. Uday Hussein
Uday Saddam Hussein (; 18 June 1964 – 22 July 2003) was an Iraqi politician and businessman. He was the eldest son of Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and his first wife Sajida Talfah. Owing to his family connections, Uday held various roles in the Iraqi political and military circles, as well as in business. He held positions as a sports chairman, heading the Iraqi Olympic Committee, Iraq Football Association, and the Fedayeen Saddam. Born in Baghdad, Uday was seen for several years as the likely successor to his father; however, he lost the place as heir apparent to his younger brother, Qusay, due to injuries in an assassination attempt.
